The NHL Hockey Rules Ice and Inline Hockey Tour is a series of weekend indoor ice and inline hockey tournaments open to youth in the 8 and under through 17 and under categories. This new tournament series is brought to you by the NHL and its Member Clubs.
The Tour will visit 19 NHL cities, September 2002 through April 2003. Each tournament will take place over a weekend during the NHL season. Each event features:
Round robin ice/inline hockey tournament play
NHL player/alumni appearances
Youth SuperSkills contests
Youth player clinics
The opportunity for participants to attend a local NHL game. Winners of the local events are eligible to participate in the Ice Hockey and Inline Hockey Championships, scheduled for February, 2003 (Ice Hockey Championship) and May 2003 (Inline Hockey Championship). Local event winners qualify for the National Championship events. The ice Hockey Championships will be held in conjunction with NHL All-Star Weekend (presented by Nextel) in Sunrise, Florida (dates and packages TBD). The Inline Hockey Championships will be held on May 2003 (location TBD).
