Well my theory is that it doesn't hurt to ask :)

This post is in reference to the thread below about the stolen hockey equipment (from the stolen car).

John Osborne is a member of the ECRHA and has been an active and volunteer Board Member for a while. He is now the ECRHA Liaison to the PCRHL (Philly Collegiate Roller Hockey League) and still very active with us in the pursuit of organizing college roller hockey and getting colleges and universities to recognize these clubs. Osborne is a member of the Drexel Roller Hockey League, a referee, and a friend of the hockey community.

I am currently asking that if anyone has any equipment that is in somewhat decent condition and fits the sizes detailed below, that you please consider donating it to the ECRHA so that Osborne may continue playing and officiating. Your kind donation will be both recognized and appreciated.

Here is a list of what was stolen:

Tour 962 Roller Hockey Skates, Sz. 9.5
Labeda Gripper Millenium Wheels (8 "Amber" soft, 8 "Purple" extra soft)
Eagle X70 Gloves, Sz. 14 (Black and White)
Hespeler EP EPS Elbow Pads, Sz. Senior Medium
Hespeler EPS Shinguards, Sz. 14"
Bauer HH5000C Helmet, w/ Cage. Sz. Large
Winnwell Equipment Bag
WSI Compression Jock, Sz. Men's XL
Itech Jock Plus 200, Sz. Sr. Large
Referee Jersey and Whistle
Bauer Supreme 1000 Ice Skate, Sz. 9
Philly Express Custom Pants (lettered "Dragons" down one leg, "Philly
Express" down other), Sz. XL
(2) CCM Customized Nashville Predators jerseys (home and away), Sz. XL
- Home: Blue dragon patch logo, #95
- Away: Gold and blue "DU" patch logo, #95
Extra laces, Sz. 110"
Extra bearings and floating spacers, (Bearings: BSB ABEC 5)

Thank you for reading this, and if anyone knows or hears of stollen equipment being sold or worn, please contact me directly at the ECRHA 516-238-4040 or Osborne (contact info in other thread). Please also contact me if you have any equipment to donate, especially skates so Oz can ref and make some money!

Thank you.

in addition

an ECRHA All Tournament All Star Jersey was also stolen. #6 in white, sports ECRHA accross the front. The ECRHA sold exactly 8 of these as special requests. Only #6 is the stolen one.

Thank you, Rebecca, for the kind words!

Honestly, I expect to recoup some of my losses when my insurance company gets around to review my claim and perhaps giving me money for some of this stuff. But, as you can see, there's about almost $1,500 worth of equipment there (probably over $500 in my skates and gloves alone), so this is a pretty big loss. I don't know how much they will cover.

The funny part about all this is that, as people who know me and who have played with me are very aware of, my equipment for the most part resides in my trunk full-time. Hence, it reeks like a pile of dog feces. Anyone who would ever buy it or wear it is in for some serious stinkiness, even if they wash it, because it's like ground-in to everything now! My jerseys and pants were actually in my trunk when I went to a concert with a leaky cooler in the trunk, as well as a few leaky beer cans. So, they have a nice alcoholic scent to them now!

They did leave me some equipment, thank god. I found my Bauer 5000C helmet for reffing intact, as well as my Easton Cyclone shaft and the blade. So, I have a stick and a helmet right now! Woohoo!

Note to self: take equipment out of trunk from now on. :)

Thanks again!
