Does anyone know where it is possible to rent vans. We are travelling to an Ironman tournament in Buter, PA and are looking to rent a van. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most of the major car rental places rent passenger vans, either 7-pass. or 15-pass. as well as cargo vans for equipment. I would start out with Budget or Thrifty, but most of the other ones rent vans too.

Hi Columbus_RHStar,

Just be careful. I recently read a study about college athletics and 15-passenger vans -- I believe they're the most dangerous vehicles on the road (next to mine). I think it's because they tip over easily.

Rich,
i read something very similar. those 15-passenger vans are very top heavy and will roll in high winds and other circumstances. about ur car, is it the car or the driver? >=)

Cali,

Ahem. Didn't my car make it safely to your house a while back to drop off an IHC Christmas gift? You may get a lump of coal in future years. LOL.

Yeah, combine the fact that the vehicles are prone to toppling over with an inexperienced driver distracted by a vanful of hockey players, and you have a pretty volatile situation.

Our Assistant Athletic Director actually handed out an article with some of the statistics as far collegiate sports travel accidents. It was very scary, and combined with the tragic events in the ECRHA this season, our school is very strict about our travel. You can see some of the rules here: http://www.drexel.edu/sports/form.asp?itinerary
