Seems off to me.
The east getting 3 of the top 6? Personally I would be hard pressed to put one of them in the top 6.

Well that's what happens when u can go only by stats schedule and program name. The east is terrible this year. Probably get only three national bids unless they need teams to fill it out then maybe the mediocre east teams gets bid. But a part of west Chester Neumann Hofstra it's really bad.

Keep in mind this is the first ranking, OF THE YEAR. As it stands now, many of these teams will fall out of the top25/top10 by the next ranking release. Furthermore, if we utilized a mathematical approach you'd see Brockport and Texas Tech ranked higher than UMSL and UNLV. No matter how this comes out I'm sure there will be displeasure. I will also bring up the fact that every region is experiencing a down swing this year not just the East or the West.
GMU 18 why would you be hard pressed to pick 3 teams with one loss or less in the top 6? Is it based on the play you saw at interregionals? We like to hear input so we can add it into consideration of the next ranking.
Off the record: If it were up to me and the rankings weren't based on a consensus voting process. I would place WCRHL teams from 3-6 with only Lindenwood and Bethel ahead of them.
But the best way to keep us from going by "stats, schedule and program name" (which I assure you we don't) is to post videos of your or any team, to the NCRHA Coast to Coast page. This way we can avoid the transitive property argument. It is in all of our hands to make this as legitimate as we can, thanks for the feedback, and let's keep this constructive.

I don't know why you get so defensive. My comment was norther harsh or ignorant. There are no videos to watch of action or inner regionals yet of the premiere teams, so realistically you are going by record and stats. Not by actual team evaluation because how can someone from the west evaluate a team from the east?
Rankings will become much more accurate after the regional at Pittsburgh. Other than that these are just fun things to look at with no real accuracy of evidence.

Nothing overtly defensive about it; also nobody said your comments were either of those things.
We have contact with guys (players current & former mostly) over various regions aside from myself and Kevin who do the majority of the work. Kevin is involved with NARCh and the WCRHL while I'm involved deeply with ECRHA which directly allows us to compare 2 of the most distant regions by ourselves. There may not be video of interregional action yet, but there is plenty of intra-regional play everyone can send from this and last year. GMU did a 24/7, Northeastern does a 24/7, JMU posts all their game highlights to youtube, ECRHA would post ECRHA gameday footage for a while, Cal Poly's Ryan Newens has video on youtube, Kevin Smith has U of A action on youtube, and so on and so forth.
If you post it I will watch an analyze it for sure. I love helping this sport and I think this is a correct step in legitimizing it. We appreciate the feedback you've been giving so far.

Not sure if it makes a difference but Michigan State beat both Grand Valley and Illinois twice (each) in the preseason Illini Invitational tournament.

I would suggest doing rankings based simply off the results. Like what this http://ircnationalrankings.blogspot.com/ used to do. Winning games against other regions would bring more "total points" to your region. Due to a lack of inter-regional play through-out the season, previous season rankings should be kept.
As for why I would be hard pressed to pick 3 teams with one loss or less, is you have to put in account who they played. My adult team is currently 7-0 at the local rink. However we would get crushed by the top adult teams in new york, or cali.
