SARDINA - Nicholas J. Unexpectedly, February 25, 2012 of Clarence, NY at the age of 27 in Kansas. Beloved son of Kathleen (nee Coveny) (David B. Jr.) Forsyth and Joseph T. Sardina; dear brother of Samantha, David III and Ian Forsyth; loving grandson of John M. Sr. (late Dawn) Coveny, June (Jack) Kurczewski, the late Joseph Sardina and Jane (late David B.) Forsyth; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 AM and from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church at 10 AM. Nicholas a SGT. with the Kansas National Guard, also served three tours in Iraq from 2006-2007 with the US Army Echo Troop 4th Cavalry 2nd Brigade Recon Troop 1st Infantry Division "BIG RED ONE" and was a student at Kansas University.

Nick played 2 years with the K-State Inline Club before transferring to KU to finish his undergrad, where he played for their ice team. He took some online master degree courses this semester at K-State and played with us one week-end in St. Louis. Nick was a great man, a decent hockey player, and a good friend. He will be missed.
