Some interesting things happened in my life this weekend and I have made some revelations which I'll discuss some of. Your comments are welcome.

I had a wonderful week in Vegas. No I didn't win any money nor did I go out and party. But Yes, it was very tirering and draining and I came home sick (the flu?). I watched roller hockey every minute of my trip and discussed the future of this sport with every person I came in contact with who was interested, and I had a GREAT TIME. At times I spent hours engaged with people from USA, USARS, NARCh, AAU, Mission, Nexed, Hyper, etc etc (just to name a few), and that is not to mention the 14-18 hours every day for 4 days spent with the members of my own the League, the CRHL (and its member Regions). Some say its sad that I have no life. Well this is my life, and its my choice. It's a hockey life-is that really so sad?

Never have I felt like the future is brighter for this sport then this past weekend.

For those of you who are not familier with the Collegiate Roller Hockey League, I invite you to learn more about it, and I challenge you to get involved. The College Division that you saw in Vegas at NARCh Winternationals is an ETS (Elite Tournament Series) of the CRHL and only showcases 12 of the 140+ teams that exist currently. You can and should read more about the League at CRHL.net or even on my Region's website at ECRHA.net or any of the other 6 member regions.

The future of Roller Hockey is here and it is bright. The CRHL will provide a future, but needs your support. We need leadership in the roller hockey community and leadership amongst the players themselves. Where will you go when you're done with high school, or can no longer play Junior? In sitting with the likes of so many prominent roller hockey organizations and companies, it was evident to me that there is no longer any doubt that roller hockey has proven itself in this country as a growing, lasting, and worth-while sport. The CRHL will take that to another level and ensure that this sport exists on the collegiate level. However we need support! We need support of all kinds, from staff support and funds to education in the colleges. There is no limit on support and support doesn't have to be limited to exclusive relationships. We will look to broaden all our relationships and build bridges in the hockey community. We will look for leaders to start clubs in the schools, as well as take those clubs to other levels; enticing colleges to recognize the value of this interest and support it. We will be the future for this sport.

The CRHL currently is and has remained a self sufficiently supported not-for-profit organization, utilizing volunteers for all facets of its goals and responsibilities. However, we are now emphasizing staff support and are left to make that one of our fucuses of the future in order to aid our staff in becoming more accountable in running the CRHL. Without this staff support, we could be hindered in our own growth and efficiency.

Won't you please take the time to attend a CRHL event near you? Tell a high school senior that they can have roller hockey in college. Contribute your support may it be dollars, products, or just the simple recognition of the CRHL as a worth while future. How about making a local high school league in your area aware of the CRHL or helping a freshman start a club. The support is limit-less.

Thanks for reading and thank you to all who spent time speaking with any of our members in Vegas. Thanks to NARCh for their support of the CRHL ETS, as well as thanks to the new organizations recognizing us.

CRHL Nationals are April 4th through the 7th in St. Louis, MO this year. Please check out the website for more information!
