Well, now that Winternats are almost done with I think it may be time for us to start getting into gear for the upcomming inline hockey season. This board has been very quiet the past few months, there hasn't been much going on. Now its time, we're starting to gear up for this year's inline, this feels like its going to be a great one. It has started off with a bang! The Mission Eastern Challenge is off to a good start, and there was a great showing for the Nexed tourney at Dumars, and Winternats was the biggest yet! I for one hopes that this trend continues!

Anyways, lets get on to what the title suggests about the article, inline north of the border! Over here we're still in ice mode, and for good reason, its the middle of the winter, but believe me the chatter of inline is already starting. The anticipation is overwhelming! Everyone I talk to who plays with me is very eager to get the new gear, pick up those couple missing links, and get to business. This seems to be the same all over southern Ontario. There is a buzz in the air, you know that inline season is just around the corner!

The teams we have here(For the Bantam Division) are 4 teams who can all challenge for the Bantam Title at the NARCh Finals(Place yet to be decided). The two favorites would have to be the Hyper Titans, and the Brantford Tour Rebels. Both of these teams has a base groupe of players who have been together for a number of years. They are both 85 teams, with lost of experience. Brantford has Narch Platinum experience since the Chicago Finals. The Hyper Titans have players with 1999 National/NARCh finals experience, and all have 2000 and 2001 Narch Platinum experience. Both of these teams can challenge for the 2002 Bantam Title granted they bring their "A" game every time they step on the floor.

The Next would have to be Toronto Tour. They have some good experience, good speed, and scoring power, backed with good goaltending. The only thing I can see stopping this team from doing well is the age and size factor. It has become very evident to me as I have gotten older that the physical side of Inline has become a very prominant part of the game. Being a younger team with smapper players could hurt them, but you never know maybe they can rise to the challenge.

Lastly there is the Oakville Coyotes. This team has been in the game for a while. I have grown up playing these guys, and they can be a good team. They have the needed experience, and age. Comming off their 2001 NARCh Bantam Gold Division win they could be a little cocky going into the season this year. But if they keep up the hard work they could be a surprise factor this year in the finals.

Other than the Bantam division there is always the ever lingering threat of the Kryptonics Krunch winning the Junior division, with players like Walton, Moore, and Sweeny they could have what it takes to win this year. There is almost no other team that can match their scoring power. They are a great team, with good people, players and coaches alike!

Well, this is my overview of what is to come from Canada this year. You never know maybe it will be our year atlast!
