This is the first time we (USF) got to see the talent in the SECRHL this year. UF looks great, FGCU D1 is very good, UCF D1.... whats going on? even though UF is good, that 5-4 loss was ugly. If UCF B doesn't win B nationals, it will be shocking. Kennesaw was bit of a surprise. I recall them being great the past couple of year and I was expecting more out of them this weekend.
Anything exciting happen in Columbia? Bethel beating CCU 5-4 with 2 seconds left seems pretty thrilling.

nothing too exciting from columbia.
it will be interesting to see what happens between ccu b ucf b and ecu b. those 3 are clearly the front runners in that division.
bethel had sweet camo jerseys that they wore all weekend. and i mean that sarcastically. can we all just agree that everyone hates that team? i heard a ccu kid ask a bethel kid "how much money are you gonna make when you go pro inline?" best quote of the day.
d2 is tight except for the top two teams(florida and kennessaw). from 3rd rank (jmu) to 7/8 rank (south car) there are 2 points separating them all. gcsu lost 9-3 to vtech, who then lost 4-3 to usc, who then lost 6-4 to gcsu. that only proves how even the playing field is this year in d2.
nothing else too exciting from cola.

I don't even know why Bethel went to Columbia. Why couldn't they go to Raleigh where there were more DI teams to play? Were they scared? By the way, tough to see CCU lose twice, but they will bounce back. They are a talented squad.

Chickentender,
What 5-4 loss were you referring to the site isn't updated http://secrhl.org/schedule.php?event_id=1312
Can you give us any updates?
If it was a D2 team Florida beating UCF D1, i wouldn't look too much into it. UCF seems like they just wait to "flip the switch" for the postseason. In D1, games vs. D2 don't count in the standings for regional rankings anyway. It seems like UCF is pretty much laying in the weeds like last year. They were the 4th seed, and lost to Kennesaw and then ran the table beating every SECRHL D1 team there to win the D1 championship. Now that D1 only has 7 teams what is going to be the Regional setup? I kind of preferred the double-elimination last year of D1 compared to the round-robin style of D2. I think the double-elimination obviosly created more drama.

that final bethel goal was a crazy play too. i wasn't there to see it but from what i heard there was a shot that went over the net, bounced off the wall then came back over the net right in front. there was a big mess in front to get the puck and the ccu goalie evidently had no chance of getting to it. terrible way to lose the game.
