Help - removing plug from stick?

Hi,

I just got a couple of new CCM sticks delivered and I want to shorten them a little. Can I just pull out the end plug, or is it in there with hot glue and therefore need to be heated to be removed?

ITs just plastic, you can stick a nail or something short under it and pry it right out.

Thanks. It is the type that is open in the middle, so I just pulled it out with a pair of pliers.
