hey, I saw a couple of kids playing this new game the other day. It looked kinda cool. I hope it catches on.

lol

there is a public park/paved area in Roccaraso near the rink and where all the players for Worlds stayed - the first few days the kids were all riding bikes/scooters around on it - by the end of the tournament they were all running around, hockey sticks in hand.

not necessarily relevant, but...

Last evening we held the first-ever game in my new facility, the Blue Mooses Sports Arena.

Before anybody gets too excited, we play in a super small rink, only 1,000 square feet. The game is 3-on-3, or 2-on-2, "half-court" (take the puck to the back end-zone on each possession, prior to going into the offensive zone, ala half-court basketball), no goalies, a 8" by 3' (pond hockey like) goal.

Is it "real" hockey. no. Is it "real inline hockey?" not really, I guess...we call it "shoebox hockey."

It is a very good game, you must use all your hockey skills, and hands/skating abilities are at a premium.

We are begining league-type, albeit for-fun play next week. I'll let you know how it turns out...
