I believe that it will be a good game but miami should take them if they play well. I heard that they will actually have all of their guys this weekend, where as in the first tournament they were missing 2 top players. Everygame for them will be a good game but it looks like they should take the first 3 games. The game vs kennesaw d1 i still cannot tell but it will definitely be a good game. whoever comes to play will win that game. anyone have predictions on that game?

Ive heard they just dont wanna play D1....i dont get why you wouldnt just play....its not like they would only play D1 teams every weekend and who knows how they would do...sounds like FAU lacks any confidence whatsoever...

To clear things up....

FAU missed the first tournament in Snellville because the school would not give them the paper work in time to let them go to Snellville, so the league had them not play. FAU was supposed to go to the tournament in NC, they even ordered plane tickets for the weekend, but the league called them the weekend before and told them they cannot play because they scheduled too many teams. FAU plays Monday nights in an adult league, and in the last few weeks have had three skaters get injured for the entire season and now their goalie quit due to some injury or something. They tried to salvage the season with trying to get a new goalie, and after speaking to 6 goalies no one would commit, ending their season. As Alex said, they are a D2 team, and would not even be competitive in D1, but that had nothing to do with them not playing.

Welcome to our world, out of all of our games this season ( I am including columbia), we will have played 5 DI games and 7 DII games.

I still don't get why Miami is playing a B team though. Not very fair to the B team.

While we would like to play more games within our division, We are going to play the schedule in front of us no matter who we are matched up against. To say that its not fair to the B team that they have to play Miami, remember that this is the same B team that placed 2nd in Nationals. They are better than a decent amount of the DII teams in the SECRHL. Definately not an easy weekend for us in Ft. Myers. It will be interesting to see how it plays out come regional time when we will have only played 2 or 3 games against the teams in the Southern Division of the SECRHL. Why break the teams up into divisions when they are going to be so uneven in terms of talent and then you dont even play many games in your division. Is it fair that Georgia College is going to be the #3 seed in the SECRHL when they will probably be 7th or 8th in points overall?

while seeds are meaningless they play a major role in the route each team will take to a regional championship. because of how it is done, it is a possibility the top 2 teams will be in the same bracket. does that make sense?

How a team performs at regionals plays a major role in National bids. getting eliminated in the quarterfinals by the team you should have faced in the finals makes your team look weaker than it really is on a national scale.

I understand where you are going Beezerall. I didnt think about that. Theoretically th best teams could be 1 and 3 with how the seeds are which isn't really fair come bracket time. This is why DII teams should stick to DII and DI should stick to DI. But like I said before, theres nothing that can be done and in the end you just have to play. I'm sure the committee would look and recognize If the 2 best teams had to face eachother in the same bracket though.

scores from yesterday are up now.....FGCU and Miami was an amazing game, as expected. FGCU had the lead all game and and blew it in the last few minutes....both teams are very good. I saw Miami tied UCF's B team, that was a shocker...

USF won 5-3....FGCU just wasnt on their game.....USF goalie stood on his head as well

Thanks for the compliment. I give props to FGCU. They were a good team. Unfortunately, i have to add that their 3rd goal was in fact far from one. A bouncing around puck in front, eventually ending in the corner, was somehow ruled a goal by the ref at midrink. This "goal" made the game 4-3 and thanks to our best player burying a late one, it made it 5-3 clinching the game for us. It was an exciting, overall clean game, and well played by all. Ask any player from that rink about the third goal and i would think they would agree. The ref was the only one there who swore it was a goal.

very true ECU. Even though im somewhat bias because im friends with the entire UTampa team. they played awesome this weekend. offense was on fire all 4 games, D was strong, and goaltending was phenom. when they learn to stay out of the box and keep 4 men on the rink at all times, they will be able to score much more. But they are usually expecting 10 minutes of penalties a game with them.

UCF B is an awesome team leading to our only loss of the weekend. Even though they use the same insult at the end of the game every time we play them, "YOU GUYS SUCK, YOU JUST LOST TO A B TEAM!", they dont know they are insulting themselves. They are one of the best B teams in the country who can play with nearly any team out there and Ill be rooting for them come nationals and they are near the finals.

Did you all go 3-1 or 2-1-1? Regardless, major props on tying ( or beating) a very good team in KSU as well...
