Thoughts after preseason?
Uconn- hustles with solid goal tending and sole skill
West Chester- solid club top to bottom, goalie could be issues
Rowan- looks solid but seems to lack a solid star
Buffalo- new players, solid with great goaltending
Neumann- possibly the best first line in the east? Goal tending again seems suspect
Temple- solid team should do well in d1
Anymore thoughts on teams not mentioned

URI- obviously when you lose the one of the top players in the league, 80% of your lineup and both your goalies there's going to be a drop in talent, but wow, what a drop it was.
Stony Brook- goaltending will be a big issue for them, unless someone stayed home on Long Island this weekend that we don't know about. They skate hard and have some skill up front, but will need to find a way to keep the puck out of the net.
Suffolk- They always have a big turnover from year to year, which obviously makes it hard to keep your rhythm. It usually takes them a few weekends to get everything together, and there never seems to be a lack of talent at that school. They've never been known as a defensive minded team, but this year they might need to get on the D side of the puck a little more.
West Point- Same thing, kind of. Not as much turnover, but they don't quite get the same opportunities to practice that the rest of the league does. Of course they're a big, physical team- they're the Army. When they use it to their advantage, they are very tough to play against.
Brockport- All about the goaltending. If Keyes can stop the puck like he can, they'll be in good shape. Not a real hard skating team, but good passing and chemistry can take them far. Not the greatest depth either- they had a lot of guys, but it seemed like they played the same 2 lines the whole weekend.
Towson- They have the parts and the knowhow to compete. Goaltending will have to be strong in order for them to remain really competitive.

Should be a fun year. I thought WCU looked really good. And i was surprised by UB having a pretty new squad and doing pretty well, although i knew they had great goal tending.
Expect Rowan to get things going during the regular season with their full roster.
Nueman looked about the same as last year in the 2nd semester. Picked up a solid forward to replace klenk. And as always looked to be a pretty fast team.
URI i feel bad for number 71
Army looked ok, i was not super impressed when playing them. They seem to have a good amount of good players. They rolled their lines and tired us out.
And as for us (Brockport) our Captain and top defender dis located his shoulder first period of the weekend and was out the remainder of the games. Were yet to find out when he will be ok to play. With that being said we had zero returning players on defense forcing us to move our only other returning skater (besides myself) back to defense for the weekend.
As for us running 2 lines. We got a very solid pick up who is now my line mate. We ran as the first line 2/3 of the time and then rotated through 4 other players as the 2nd line. All of those players who are brand new to roller and may not be seeing much of any time come regular season.
And of course we have Keyes :)

Didn't get to see anything other than line scores, but 7 out of 10 games this past weekend were decided by 2 goals or less, with one tie and 5 one goal games. Shows me that it'll be tough to pick this league. We need to get the weekly pickem competition going again.

I think that after looking at the last two events for most of the Ecrha teams, the mid Atlantic conference is a battle every game and no team is untouchable top to bottom.

What's up in new York with these games??

Just from watching many of the teams so far i gather any team is going to beat any team there is no number 1 team.
Teams that i would say watch out for is,
Rowan
WCU
Neumann
Conneticut
- I've seen all the teams in the ecrha play and the one team that i would not want to play is Neumann, they are a fast team that can put up points, I dont think any team in the east matches up with them when they decide they want to play and roll 8 players, but they do play sloppy.
I think regionals are going to be amazing.

i would definitely add rutgers to that list. hard to leave them off considering the record of 9-2-1. and neumann hasn't looked THAT good. only really impressive win was 7-3 over connecticut and there were a ridiculous amount of penalties in the 3rd.
so my teams in order would be:
1-connecticut(besides a real sloppy loss to neumann they have looked solid)
2-rutgers(if they keep the score low, they usually win)
3-west chester(beat connecticut in the opening weekend, but has tied some games they should have won)
4-tie between rowan and buffalo

if you look at the games neumann has lost, theyve been 1 goal games in the final minutes of the third that the opposing team has taken the lead (exception Rowan) im not going by just record alone, i will certainly say Rowan is a class A team that is going to go far, conneticut i'm not sold on after watching a few games. Rutgers is solid but still not a team i think will make a huge run. the one team i have yet to see play is Brockport but they have a solid goalie and a few good forwards. Lets just agree that come regionals however the setup is, the last team in could easily knock off the first team in, which is exactly why all those D2 teams were made to move up, its an excited region
edit: in reference to your #3 west chester post, i dont think at this point there are any games that teams should win that they havent, i think with the exception of the URI, every game played is a game where either team can win... look at tampa they tied suffolk?? At this point no win or lose really should suprise anyone

I think if Neumann can fix there goaltending troubles they would turn some of these higher scoring and one goal loses to wins. But it seems they may hit a wall like last year. Once again alot of speed but goaltending and depth is there Achilles for the thrid year in a row

I don't see Neumann being in the Running for the Ecrha they lost there talent, sure they pickup some guys. But there a shadow of the team there were, and they wouldn't have been my top pick than anyway.

GMU i think neumann is better team this year than last year, more balanced 1-8 players. I believe they are going to Pittsburgh this year as well for interregional play, im going to make a safe assumption that if they play GMU it would be a repeat of last year.
Sangiorgio I agree, depth has always been an issue over the past 3 years. Goaltending always been so-so, from what i hear/seen thou its starting to turn around, hopefully neumann can make a run again.

How can Neumann be a balanced team, who has the best line in the east and have a losing record?

I have seen them play and with coaching put aside cause dometimes when I have seen them it was a mess, but they got a new player that balances scoring on the second line. I don't want to get into trash talking but I'm confident when gmu plays Neumann it'll be a repeat of last year. Let's just leave it at that
Also there record is 500, which says a lot more than a winning record in the south region..

From what I've seen Neumann goalie stood on his head in new York and the previous weekend

From what I have heard Neumann was asked to head South too play in VA. Too many ECRHA Teams going to Pittsburgh.
