On Friday, October 15th & Saturday, October 16th* the Ohio State Roller Hockey team will be holding an ironman tournament fundraiser at Central Ohio Roller Hockey in Columbus.
We will be starting on Friday (10/15) evening with the Elite division in action. The Beginner and Intermediate divisions will then take place on Saturday (10/16).* By doing the schedule this way we will be able to finish up the games in plenty of time for everyone to head out and watch the big Ohio State football game against the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night at 8 PM (We are also trying to work something out with some local restaurants for the game, stay tuned for more information).
*The times and dates for the tournament are subject to change. Depending on the number of teams that sign up some days and times may change. Any changes to the proposed schedule will be posted on osurh.com as soon as they are determined.
Ironman format:
* Teams of 4 skaters + a goalie
* No substitutes
* All games are 12 minute running-clock games
* All penalties result in a penalty shot
* No faceoffs unless the puck goes out of play (Play it behind the net on goals/saves)
Three different divisions will be offered based on skill level (Recommended CORH house league levels):
* Elite: Experienced players, fast pace of play (CORH A/B League)
* Intermediate: Some experience, slightly slower pace (CORH C/D League)
* Beginner: Little to no experience (CORH D/E League)
The expected start times are as follows. ***Keep in mind that these times are very tentative right now and may change as the tournament fills up***
* Elite: Friday, October 15th @ 6:30 PM
* Intermediate: Saturday, October 16th @ 11 AM
* Beginner: Saturday, October 16th @ 9 AM
The cost is $125 per team and all proceeds will go directly to the Ohio State Roller Hockey club to help offset travel and game costs.
The registration deadline is Tuesday, October 12th at 6 PM. Pre-registration is required for scheduling purposes. Pre-payment is encouraged (paypal or mail) but is not required.
