Does ESPN 3 not look at the league as pro? Is it qualified as amateur.
Just curious because if people do not know AAU, then they may not look for it.

In what way is it professional? Players all pay to play, pay for gear, pay for uniforms, paid to get to Florida. If you win I don't think you get more than a trophy and a solid handshake. It's elite level competition, but not in any form professional.

I know its not Professional I wanted to know what ESPN thought?
I am sure AIHL tried to get it to say Pro Roller hockey right?

AIHL is and always has been marketed as America's Elite inline hockey League. No where has it ever said AIHL is pro hockey. ESPN is fully aware of the leagues status. They do all kind of amateur sports.

When the AIHL league was formed, mostly by former members of another organization, one of the very first changes made was to address the difference between pro and elite.
The members felt that calling a league pro was a mistake and would create certain expectations that would not be able to be delivered upon. We are all proud to be USA's elite championships. The AAU and ESPN work together on a regular basis and not only do they know we are an amatuer league, but they embrace it.
