For the second year in a row, the Hofstra Roller Hockey club and the St. Baldrick's Foundation have teamed up to help shave the way to a cure.
22 members of the team and members of the Hofstra community, including Dean of Students Peter Libman, went on stage during common hour in the Student Center on Hofstra's campus and had their heads shaved by the HX Salon staff in solidarity with the kids fighting cancer.
In total, the team raised close to $5,000 through online donations and cash and checks given at the event. Donations are still being accepted online at http://www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/eventid/1659/eventyear/2010 and any amount, small or large, is extremely appreciated.
Some of the event photos can be seen here http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2192041&id=18901031&l=137aaa8113 with plenty more to come.
