i know the 1st 2 rounds are played at the higher seeds home rinks...
after that how does it work? i couldnt find anywhere on the site about it...
is it that each division winner goes to Florida and plays the rest of the playoffs there or what?
also are there set dates for the playoffs in Florida and which facility is it being played at?

Correct divisional rounds are at higher seeds in divisions.
After that all conference playoffs and finals are at disney memorial day weekend
Each division winner goes
Played at Disney wide world of sports
I heard that our division (Southwest) has 2 teams going to Florida. The #1 regular season seed and then the winner of divisional playoffs between seeds #2-5. I have no idea what's true and what's not.

Playoffs! Playoffs! Were talking about Playoffs!
Not true .
Good. Hated that idea. So it's just one team going to Florida, the winner of divisional playoffs then right?

How does it work in Florida then?
There Will be 4 teams from the East and 3 from the West.. correct?
And Will the weekend be Tourney Style with round robin games and teams re-seeded from round robin. Or will each division winner be seeded by their regualr season standings, and play a sereies?

All are best of 3 series.
West seed 1 will get a bye.
Teams will be seeded upon their regular records for the conference semis. 1v4 and 2v3 in the east. 2v3 and seed 1 gets a bye in the west.

I don't know how I feel about that setup. I feel like some divisons are stronger than others (which really is no big deal it is what it is, NHL is like that as well), I also feel like in the East for instance the Georgia/ Texas teams only play a 14 game regular season from how it looks on website. So how does that work? If a team in that division can get a maximum of 28 points, a team who took 2nd or 3rd in their division and wins playoffs can be in a better position. I don't see that as fair personally. It is also going to be cool to go to Florida but I would personally rather travel somewhere a bit closer if it is only going to be a best of 3 series until the finals.
Much of roller hockey if not all of it is played tourney style (NARCH, TORHS ETC.) why stray from that mind set? We are going to play hockey why not play as much as we can? I feel like round robin setup will get everyone their monies worth.
I don't know I could be crazy, they say all goalies are. But I enjoy playing the more I can the happier I am. These are just thoughts, I know people can take things a bit personal on this board, I'm not looking to bash anything. Just give some viewpoints.

Brods,
Gulf Coast div plays a bunch more games - we're just not done yet and I think whoever is in charge of keeping the schedule updated on the site hasn't gotten everything updated yet.
Not sure what the final game total is (joined the team midseason) but I think we're ending up w/ the same amount of games. If not I'm sure they'll rank it according to Win % rather than total points.

The SE Gulf divison scheduled is being fixed as we speak. I have been working on it all day. Please be patient as it will be corrected by this evening.

Craig present these points to your owner and maybe they can be voted upon for next year.
This years structure has been set for a while.

Craig,
To speak to the SE/Gulf Region...I can't speak for all the teams in the region but i know us (GA) and the Texas terror will each play 24 regular season games....We have a festival this weekend in La where we will play 6 games. My understanding is the reason we only play just 24 games vs the 32 that other teams play is the travel in our region is much more sizeable than in other regions b/c we are so spread out. Our SHORTEST travel (excluding the only festival we will host in april) was to Gulfport which mapquest says is 425 miles from atlanta (and yes we only have one weekend of home games). In terms of standings its my understanding that the standings will be seeded based on winning percentage since our region is playing fewer games than the other regions. I think the league is hoping to get some more teams on board next season to try to reduce the travel for teams in our region, but i may be incorrect with that assumption....
In terms of nationals, I have to agree with your mindset. Cost of rinktime at nationals may be a factor, trying to squeeze the whole tourny into a weekend may not allow for a tourny style as you may end up playing 8+ games in a weekend (not that i think thats too many, just saying). But i'm sure teams traveling in from Cali for example aren't going to be thrilled if they lose their first two games and than have to travel back home...I kind of like the idea of each eastern team playing each other once (3 game round robin) and than the top 2 teams from the east play a best of three...with the west teams, maybe they play the other two teams twice and than a best of three between the top two teams...

Im glad you guys get to play more games down there in the Gulf Coast, the more the merrier. I kind of figure everything was set for this season. It is what is. Thought I would throw it out there. I think I can speak for most players when I say that I just like to play hockey! The more I get to play the more fun I have. I guess well just have to make sure we get to Florida first and then win some games down there so we can play more. That will make me happy haha.

-With the first seven months of the baseketball post-season out of the way, the playoff picture is now starting to emerge.
-So, with last night's victory over Boston, next week the Beers must beat Indianapolis in order to advance to Charlotte. That's in an effort to reduce their magic number down to three.
-Right, and then... the Beers can advance to the National Eastern Division North to play Tampa.
-So if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup. Unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play L.A. and Pittsburgh in a blind choice Round Robin. And if new clear winner emerges from all this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion is crowned.
