Okay I am new to the whole college roller hockey...played ice but gonna switch to roller, was there really a dude who scored 76 goals in 18 games and 28 assists for 104 points last year? Is he THAT good or is his league weak??
thanks, just wondering about the competition level..

i assume you are talking about the kid from siue. he is good but the competition in d2 great plains is really weak. truman state and missouri state are good; everyone else not so much.

jason walker, we played them last year in nationals, he was a good player but i still dont see how he could have scored that many points regardless of how bad the competition was

yea jason walker is who I was talkin about, sorry.
Yea I was just curious if he was like a god on wheels or just a product of a weak division. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, I'm sure he has skill, since when they played Lindenwood who is D1 and very good correct?? he had a couple goals vs. them

No. Lindenwood isn't very good. You must really be new to college roller hockey.

Walker is a special player with a scoring touch unlike almost anybody I have ever played with or watched play.
I have played with him on ice and watched him play roller. On ice, he holds the record for goals and is basically a legend at siue from what I understand. We played against a bunch of Junior B/A (stl bandits) players and he walked around them pretty easily. I was impressed.
As for roller, 5 goals against LU--enough said. I don't think anybody has ever done that. Regardless of whether or not LU was trying hard or whatever (I don't think Coach RB would stand for that), 5 goals is 5 goals.
SIUE is my dark horse to go far at nationals. You heard it here first. They are GOOD this year, but are also DEDICATED to becoming a better team. That is huge.

The fact that there is a separate thread to talk about this kid scoring is ridiculous. I'm sure he's an above average player but I would be willing to bet he would just blend in with the better players in ecrha.

it's not a real discussion until someone brings up the ecrha.

He's most definitely good enough to play on the top line of any ECRHA team, DI or DII. Period.
As far as the GPCIHL goes, Walker's finishing ability is second to none, until Shawn Gawrys joins UMSL in January.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge, but that's the word.
