View Full Version : Boy is it quiet...

Usually this time of year is crazy with all of the rumors that float around during the offseason. You can almost always come across someone in the sport that says "hey...did you hear that so and so is moving to his team's rival?". Or you hear "that team is leaving their rink and moving to ____". This summer has been extremely quiet, at least up here in Boston. Is it like that around the rest of the AIHL, or any other league for that matter? Not that I expected this year to even come close to all of the stuff that went on last year. But wow, it's like a ghost town up here.

Here's what's going on in Boston. The Beantown Bees and Massachusetts Mulissha are going to run their own independent operations this season at both the Elite and Minor levels. Now, there is some speculation as to who is going to fill out their respective squads, but it all seems to be just speculation at this time...nothing concrete. That's it!!! The cat's been out of the bag on this for a few months, so it's not any type of breaking news to anyone up here.

Anyone have anything good for us to chew on as we enter the dog days of summer?

Hi Ruppy,

I don't know anything about all that, but I did save $100 on my car insurance. ;)

Quiet can be boring, but for a message-board moderator, it's like heaven. lol.

It was nice hanging out with you, Dave, Al and RatCast in Feasterville last week. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, but is a 96 really a victory for anyone?

I'd take a 96 on the front 9.

I heard somewhere that one of the Mass teams was going to move down to Warwick, but I guess nothing came out of that.

I think the Mulissha was looking into it, but I don't think the rink had the availability necessary to host a team.

in maryland not alot is going on. tryout dates will be set soon. This years team will be even stronger than last years because we will be adding some very strong players and our entire 8 from last season should be returning.

are there any rumors about new teams joining the league? is it possible that our travel might get cut down a little?

#1 - I like pie.

#2 - I also might play AIHL Minors...

Both I feel should be cause for some conversation because of the hilarious exploits that #2 might lead too and because who doesn't enjoy a good slice of pie?

You guys were an awesome team to cover at the Eastern Conference Finals. I would have loved to see your team with your full roster.

There are indeed rumors (pretty credible ones) of new teams joining, however it wouldn't be right for me to comment as I have yet to speak with these potentially new teams directly.

One thing I can assure you is that this year will be even better than last year in the AIHL.

I always get a bonus when I eat pie at the rink.......I would skate for a slice of pie, would the pie be the signing bonus?.....hmmmmm:eek:

Awesome. I can't wait to see your lineup this season.

I was in your home rink the other day and overheard people talking about your return this season, in addition to more home games. Everyone seemed really excited about the future at the rink. I hope to get my son involved with the youth program this season, and understand that the Knights will be hosting some clinics. My son was at the last clinic, still talks about it! You guys put on a great show on and off the rink, thanks!

Looking forward to seeing the AIHL in Maryland this coming season.

Thanks for a great 1st season, and a upcoming spectactular 2009/10 season!
