A rumor floated around about how NARCh might do Estero, San Jose and possibly another city next year....One of the blogs on NARCh.com revealed the Finals in 2010 at San Jose next year...

Should be able to confirm it soon, but it looks like we're back at the Plex next summer!! Was GREAT last year!!

Things look to be going great in Missasauga, I think the pic of the first set of champs this year on the NARCh.com home page is awesome!! The future of the sport looks great!!

if it goes back to CA i vote for SO CAL .. San Jose was great but change it up. Go for Anaheim Hockey Club in Corona. you got Anaheim, LA, and Huntington Beach among other things all around...

Estero isnt a bad option again either...

By Tp Missing Finals

My Family is in the air on there way...

Bitter sweet this morning at 4:45am. Dropping my Family and Friends off at the San Francisco Airport. This might be one of the last NARCh Finals that my Daughter plays in as a Youth.

As my Family and Friends participate in another great Finals event, my Staff and I are already preparing for the 2010 Finals in San Jose at the Silver Creek Sportsplex. AKA-The Plex.

Those of you that joined us last year, I want to say thank you. 2010 will be even better than 2008.

Thanks again to the NARCh Staff, from the President to the scorekeepers. You all are a class act!

Thanks - I guess I skipped over that one because it didn't come from Daryn.

As Chief Operations Officer at Rollin Ice http://www.rollinice.com/pages/About.html one would have to assume that he knows what he's talking about.

Great facility! Let's hope in 2010 the economy has started to turn around.

Glad they are bringing it back to Cal. Towson, trust me you do not want to get stuck trying to drive out to Corona (where AHC actually is now) on friday night rush hour. I played their for state cup years ago and had an 8pm game on a friday. Good thing we left early to watch other games because a drive that takes me 25-30mins without traffic took over 2 hours. The old location was perfect. Freeway close and enough major streets that you can skip the freeways if need be, but the new one is just lacking for a tournament the scale of NARCh finals. HB is a pain too when it comes to traffic. The parking lots of both places would be pretty miserable with a tournament the size of NARCh finals. I would love to have it in so cal, just too many obstacles that would make all of you who spend the money to fly out for it a bit bummed.

Ah, I didnt realize they moved locations. I was there once in 2004 for the NCRHA College Championship and I thought it was a pretty decent place. I guess San Jose will do

Well thx Mr Puckdropper for the blog post -- Terry is a great guy and Manny and their whole staff is awesome!!

As far as putting Finals in So Cal, Id tend to agree with trying to get around -- I remember those AIRHS finals at two different rinks back in 99 and it wasnt fun going through all that TRAFFIC for a week or so!! I mean dont get me wrong there are some fantastic facilities down there and they could host those events - 949, Escondido and a couple of others have had regionals and Winternats and the weeks are crazy...If Im running over a couple of days with one team YEAH...If Im working or reffing for two and a half weeks, sorry, no

Since NARCh's inception I dont see a facility that they have gone to for finals that has any real issues like that - its pretty easy going to and from and its always a GREAT facility...

The only places I could see being able to host NARCh finals in So Cal would be the Long Beach Arena & Convention Center, LA Convention Center or the Anaheim Convention Center. In Long Beach the arena and convention center are in the same complex. It is also walking distance to hotels, the beach, the aquarium and some shopping/dinning areas. It is also 10 minutes for the airport. Parking isn't a problem, but the last rates I saw they were charging for full facility usage was outrageous. It was pretty close to Anaheim's and you can walk to Disneyland, Downtown Disney and at least 10 hotels along with that new city terrace place they just put in. Anaheim has a scaled down arena big enough to host WWE, Clippers games and the old IHA. I can't remember if the meeting hall section has the height clearance though. It also has a hotel attached to the building and is literally 10 minutes walk to Disneyland. LA has the same room and staples center is next door, but traffic could be an issue. Dodger games really back up those freeways and there are a lot of one-way streets. LA provides the most flexibility for setup due to its size (hosts LA international auto show). Not to knock the local rinks at all. Really wish skate zone in HB hadn't closed down. It literally 8 blocks from coast2coast and had one roller and one ice rink. It would have given 4 rinks plus a practice rink really close. Just my opinion of what the options are for so cal.
