Do to situations beyond my control, the brand new indoor soccer arena has the sports turf that cannot be taken up and has the sand and rubber pellets all over it. They built this arena for the sole purpose of soccer. however in recent talks with the owners they may let us use it for hockey.
Question... if we lay down a subfloor over the turf and then sport court it.....would it work?? Has anyone heard of this being done before? im sure it will have a little give to it but would it be too much? thanks for your suggestions

If i had to do somthing like that,I would probably go with 3/4 ply and then the sport court. It would give you a slugish feel to your skating.also things to think about would be the expansion of the plywood.and try not to put seem on seem.If you do it let us know how you made out.good luck

When NARCh WinterNationals was in Phoenix they put sport court down over soccer turf and I played on it a few times. It's okay, it does feel a little weird but if it's what you've got to do it's not that big of a deal. It's not a preferable situation but it's okay to skate on.

we layed our floor over a rubberized basketball floor once. It did feel like "skating in sand," but it was okay for the time period we needed it.

I believe that the 3/4 plywood will make it work okay. good luck
