Not sure, but it reads to me like Rather Than Inline Hockey.

According to the Associated Press on June 14th, Capsules of the seven sports bidding for inclusion in the 2016 Olympics and making presentations Monday to the IOC executive board: (the) Roller Sports Bid presented by the International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS), but features only inline skating street races rather than skateboarding or rink hockey, which appeared as demonstration sport at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

Disappointing that they'd exclude inline hockey from their list of roller sports to submit. It's such an exciting sport to watch...

USARS/FIRS has been on record for about six years now, in anything and everything connected to a possible Olympic inclusion of roller sports, that their inclusion did NOT include inline hockey. There are at least three threads on this discussion forum from past years that have born this out.

For any player who thinks that olympic participation is highly necessary to make our sport legitimate, USARS and FIRS do not hold to your allegiance.

The NFL is not in the Olympics. Lacrosse is not in the Olympics. Golf is not in the Olympics. They are all fine with out it.

Not to be "that guy"...but the NFL isn't a sport, its a league.

I do agree with the overall concept of your post though.

The NFL was a bad example. The NFL is the N.F.L.. It doesn't need anything from anyone. It is it's own juggernaut. The NFL is getting close to full time criminals. Different story for different days. They professional inline leagues have at least 20 years before we find out "our" "Wayne Gretzky" juiced up, and "our" "Evegni Malkin" demands a trade because he wants to make 17 mil a year instead of 15. I digress.

The seven sports bidding for inclusion in the 2016 Olympics include Baseball, Golf, Karate, Roller Sports, Rugby, Softball and Squash.

Golf is bringing retired Swedish great Annika Sorenstam, winner of 10 majors, and European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie to push its case.

"One of our biggest strengths is that the Olympics is the pinnacle of our sport," said American softball star Jessica Mendoza, an Olympic gold and silver medalist. "Little girls grow up dreaming of becoming an Olympian. An athlete's goal is to represent your country in the Olympic Games."

It would appear that not all are fine without it.
