Games are going well in Raleigh. The games have been extremly competitive and awesome to watch. Maryland pulled out game one against Raleigh scoring with 7 seconds left in the game. Game two was alot closer than the scored looked Matt Beam made some great saves in net for Maryland to lead to the game two victory.
Richmond and Georgia played two very competitive physical games. THe second game was amazing to watch. Richmond got up to an early 4 goal lead. Georgia battled back with 5 straight goals to take the lead late in the second. Richmond got a late goal to send the game into overtime. IN overtime Richmond was able to get a semi break away and backhand the puck past the goalie.
Maryland and Richmond meet tomorrow morning to determine the division champs.

The finals were two great games. Maryland got out to an early lead which seemed to shake the confidence of the Richmond squad. The Knights grabbed an early power play goal and never looked back as they won game 1 8-1.
In game 2 Richmond regained their composure and displayed the talent that had earned them a spot in the finals. Maryland jumped out to a lead off 2 early goals before Richmond beat Matt Beam with a (controversial) goal during the delayed penalty. Shortly after this jordan snead picked up a turn over and was able to beat Beam with a backhand tieing the game at two. The game remained tied until Maryland picked up a power play goal to regain the lead 3-2. Shortly after that Jake Truhlar increased the lead with a goal during a delayed penalty. Richmond would put one goal back on the board before Mike Absalom stripped a Richmond player and skated in alone on Kevin Colombo. Absalom made a quick move and slid the puck around the stretched out Colombo to put the Knights back up by 2. The game would end 5-3 and Maryland would walk away as division champs.
Richmond had a really great young team this year. They are going to be a team to watch out for over the next couple of years. The Richmond organization has really built up one of the most solid minor and elite squads in the Southeast and I would not be surprised to see one of their teams walk away with a division championship next season.
Congrats to all of the Southeast teams, everyone played great hockey this season and we will do our best to represent our division next weekend in Feasterville.
