I'm going to save everyone some time:

UCF is the best D1 team.
FAU is the best D2 team.

your not saving any time in D2 for you to say that FAU is the best. they have not played UT who is 7-1 with there one loss coming against UCF in a close game. So u cant say that they r the best until these 2 teams meet in Feb at Fort Myers

That's true, UT is a very very good team. That will be a great matchup. I was basing it on their play this past weekend and their 12-0 record.

Fau had a huge pick up with greg boyd. It will probably come down to goaltending.

The southern teams are much more dominant and it is much more competitive. Teams such as Elon,WCU,CofC,Kennesaw all benefit greatly from playing the northern teams. You can say what you want about the south teams making a trip up there, they did, most were at Snelleville and they dominated. Id feel confident putting any team in the south against any north team and the south would come away with a win...you can't say that if your a northern team.

Well the game times for Ft Myers have come out and the big game of the weekend FAU vs Tampa has lost some luster

Tampa will play 4 games on sunday, the last of which is vs FAU after having only a one game break from playing Miami

I havent seen Tampa but it will be a tough feat to play to FAU's level when playing your 4th game in a day

The big game now is FAU vs UCF, UCF is clearly the top in D1 and FAU is arguably the top in D2, I anticipate a close game for this one, should be a good one to watch

WOW!!
I can agree with 1 and 2...
for the rest you have to be crazy!
Elon and Kennesaw tied..... and you have one at #3 and the other at 8?
Kennesaw has scored more goals and allowed fewer, yet that kind of difference? Base ir on THIS year not the past years. Keep in mind there are some additions to some teams in the second semester!!

I agree in D2 once you get past FAU and UT, the order is debatable.

WCU is 4-0 so its tough to say how good they really are
Then Miami was losing to FSU by 4 and came back to make it close, which makes you wonder if FSU is legit or Miami is that good.
USF uncharacteristically had a rough weekend in Tallahassee and it'll be interesting to see how they do Ft Myers as to whether or not they have fallen off.
Then you have Elon and Kennesaw that get little love cause they play in the north and unfortunately wont get any love until regionals cause no south team is traveling north to play up there.

Which brings me to two other things, one the south conference of D2 is the best conference top to bottom and itll be interesting to see what happens come regionals cause one or maybe even two of those teams may not make the cut.

Does anyone know if their is any talk of expanding D2 regionals due to the number of teams and lack of number of teams in D1

I think all the teams in the florida conference in D2 should make regionals because they sit down in florida and beat up each other and kill each others records. Or expand regionals to 10 teams so all teams that deserve it make it and no one gets left out who has a chance to win it.

I agree, D2 should have expanded regionals. I don't think the league anticipated for the amount of teams joining D2 this season. Also with the fact that there are only 6 D1 teams should make more room available for a larger d2 playoff.

Make sure to have your team rep email or get in contact with Ed or JR of the secrhl to voice your concerns.

I do not think that regionals should be expanded beyond the top 8, but I believe nationals should be expanded beyond 16. From my understanding, only the winner of regionals will be guaranteed a spot at nationals, and the remaining bids will be sorted out by the league. Seems like too many good teams will be cut from nationals.

I will have to agree that after Elon,WCU,CofC and Kennesaw, that the Florida DII teams are very deep 1 through 5. Considering that, USF and FSU need to make some kind of statement for Regionals after Dropping down to Div II from Div I. I am not sure of the student population of FAU or UT but I know UM has a healthy number of students that give a larger talent pool of players to pick from... Gloveside
