Hi Folks,

I realize that there is a pot-boiling discussion happening on IHC about the proposed Roller Hockey Alliance and many other important and interesting issues facing our great sport.

However, for many reasons, I have to step back a bit from daily involvement in all of it.

First, I am writing a book about the history of Roller Hockey International, a topic near and dear to my heart -- mostly because I've spent so much time on it over the past couple of years. I hope to have the book written by this summer, but that will be impossible if I have to worry about message-board fires all the time.

Second, I'm hoping to help create a documentary on someone who is very important to me, and that too is taking time away from my efforts on IHC.

So, what I'm requesting is that people who are offended by certain posts send me the exact URL of the disputed post and tell me if you think it should be edited or deleted, or if the person who posted it should be banned from the Forums, and why. That way, if I don't hear from anyone, I will assume that things are fairly reasonable on the message boards and I won't have to read every single post (and re-quoted post... God, I hate that feature!), as I currently do.

I know that people have volunteered to help monitor that message board, but that could potentially put them in the legal line of fire, and I have no desire that IHC have that affect on anyone.

Thank you for your consideration. I love the Internet, and I recognize the value of a free and open discussion by passionate partisans of inline hockey, but it was a helluva lot easier for an editor when I got to choose the letters that made it into print... Oh yeah, and I got a helluva lot more accomplished!

Richard, I'm looking forward to the book.....I can remember going to Vipers games here in St.Louis. I remember Rob Grimm, a former Viper Goalie set up a promo at his rink (STL Skatium). Where the teams could play at the Arena before a Vipers game if we sold enough Pizza's. Unfortunately our team did not. But to our dismay the team we were supposed to play sold more than enough so we got the slot. But more unfortunately our team never got word of it, that sucked ! The other team showed up and had one to play. They were Pi$$ed.....Another RHI St. Louis thing a lot of people may not know is the "TOWEL MAN" started with the Vipers. (not to be gay) But, I'll never forget those white pants with the snakes on them. The "TOWEL MAN" is the long standing unofficial mascot who works for the St. Louis Blues. He leads the counting chant were everyone in the Stadium participates after every goal is scored from his seat in the stands, then throws a towel into the crowed. (If you watch a Blues home game on TV, listen to the crowd after the Blues score you can hear them count.)
