Whats on everyones minds about that game this weekend? Last Years Numbers 1 and 2. My prediction, Lindenwood 5, UMSL 2. The best collegiate inline goalie in the country can only stop so many shots, and i dont think UMSLs defense can handle LUs forwards (including the forwards that play D)... just wanted to hear everyones thoughts.

What's with Lindenwood now being listed as a Masters Division team? What is the Master's Division? I don't see any other teams listed at that level. I am confused.
Masters Division is 35 & Over for the PIHA. Just some sort of mistake. I think PIHA and NCRHA both use the same stat input system so it must have something to do with that.
As for LU-UMSL...I think LU by probably 2. LU still has more firepower. Endom is a game-changer, but I don't think it'll happen this time.

Should be a great game, we probably have the edge in goal, but LU has a ton of firepower up front, just like always. Should be a tough match for both teams...
I think both teams are expecting a huge crowd as well. I hope it's a good game and exciting for those watching.
***I have assumed the role of head camera man. If anyone sees footage of the games later on, I would like to take full credit here and now. In case anybody wants to make fun of the guy with the camera, all insults should now be directed towards me. Thank you.

Matt Endom is a great goalie.... how did he get into UMSL when he couldn't get into Lindenwood academically? I guess UMSL is the hockey school now....

I guess you heard it here first:
UMSL IS THE HOCKEY SCHOOL NOW!! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!
I guess we will see after this weekend. You have to beat the man to be the man. LU is #1 for a reason.
I do know one thing, I feel sorry for LU for all the BS they have had to put up with over the years. You work hard for a long time to put together something people want to be a part of and then there are people who just want to sit around and talk s and derail any success you have. It even happens within your own organization and region sometimes. There are so many haters out there and all they want to do is talk trash. Let the steam out of your collar.

Admissions snafu...not necessarily an academic issue.

Why would you name a school after english rowed trees and then follow it up with a lion? My brother went there. It cost us 3 sheep, 2 goats and our little sister. Then they said grants, grants, grants. We sought out Ulysses, but apparently James Joyce was banned on campus and they kept suggesting some animal farm. We brought back some grapes from wrath, but they insisted they be from Khan. Quite a shame. I do believe given Linden being indicative of English trees and the lion representing the Haille Selaisse rastafarian movement there is an inherent conflict given the English domination over Jamaica and the revolution therein. Thus, given this contradiction in terms in being be both a linden tree and a lion I fault Lindenwood 6 goals and they will lose 9-2. However, if I am wrong it will be merely a 3-2 defeat or simple flesh wound.

The reason he didn't get into Lindenwood is because they only accept livestock as payment. I don't know it for a fact, but I heard they don't have much livestock in California. Lots of water and weed, though. UMSL accepts the latter.
i am going to have to disagree. http://www.realcaliforniacheese.com/

LU 4, UMSL 2. We played a really good defensive game but our team is capable of skating much better.

Great teams get breaks and capitalize on them!
LU's first goal: one of our forwards takes an iffy route defensively (turns outside rather than in), allowing the puck to move up the floor quickly, and two of our defensemen end up challenging the same guy (Jake Hill) in the left circle (failing to block his shot), leaving Travis Fudge open in front, where he slips the rebound past Endom.
LU's second goal: we get a defenseman caught deep in the LU zone on the end of a shift, and the subsequent line change happens while LU is moving the puck full-speed up the floor. We're screwed...3-on-2 leads to Mike Thiefault's rebound goal.
LU's third goal: Brandon Barnette's cross-pass hits the shaft of our defenseman's stick and deflects into the short-side top corner.
LU's fourth goal: Jeff Hill hits a power play one timer from a great angle (top of the right wing circle inside the dot).
Goal 1: coverage breakdown
Goal 2: bad change
Goal 3: bad bounce
Goal 4: power play.
(Of course, the biggest reason it doesn't look something like "Goal 5: snipe, Goal 6: backdoor tap-in, Goal 7: snipe, Goal 8: backdoor tap-in, Goal 9...." was Matt Endom. He was more than just good enough to win.)
Great players step up in big games...
UMSL's first goal: Marty Gwozdz breaks up an attempt to put the puck between his feet, and Danny Dwyer jumps on the turnover, breaks in and scores with :12 left in the second period.
UMSL's second goal: Who else? Adam Clarke, who seems to score in every big game. Even though there were only five or six minutes left, we felt at the time that we had a great chance to come back. (But as it turned out, the legs and lungs didn't cooperate. It's hard not to get worn out when you fall behind and have to chase the puck.)

There was definitely no rebound. Great give and go play with Inouye and Thiefault buried the one-timer.

Lambert never wants to give LU credit, it's always an UMSL mistake.

OK, it was a tap-in from two feet away. I can't tell on the video because it's not zoomed in.
I've always given credit where it's due anyway. Didn't I imply that we could have gotten blown out by seven or eight goals if not for Endom? What do you want me to say?

Aren't all goals due to a mistake? I'd love for someone to point out an instance when a goal was not a consequence of a mistake.
PJ Tallo's game-winning goal vs. LU on March 2....
a. Lindenwood got caught on a long shift, and Michael Inouye (completely gassed) went to the bench as Kyle Gouge (pretty tired himself) controlled the puck...
b. Gouge (last man up high) lost the puck, and Aaron Schulz passed it ahead to Tallo, who got behind Gouge...
c. Inouye and Jeff Hill didn't make the change quickly enough, leaving Hill to desperately chase Tallo, who was closing in on the net...
d. Hill left his feet and came up empty...
e. Goalie whiffed on a poke check...
f. ...and didn't have his post covered.
PJ scores.
One goal...six mistakes. (None of it would have happened if LU wasn't behind on the scoreboard and pressing hard for the tying goal.)

Hi Oldtimer,
Where's the mistake when someone takes a shot that hits the post and bounces off a defender and goes in the net? Was it the defenseman's fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? ;)

Is it the shooter's mistake for scoring without his team registering a shot on goal? :D

It was taped by Lindenwood's channel, which is carried by Charter cable locally. It was not aired live. I haven't seen their video yet.
