AIHL- great Lakes and gulf Coast Divisions

I remember seeing on the AIHL site that these two divisions were being formed. Any updates? Or is this something that will happen in the second year?

I was told hurricanes hitting the gulf coast region played a part in them not joining the league this season and that the great lakes region is definitely joining next year but it looks like this year won't happen.
