Im pretty sure that he is playing both.

Sure would be great for Penn State Roller Hockey if he played both.

I do know that Penn State has a top notch Club Ice Hockey team that is very competative and both practices and plays games a lot.

If he can handle both, great!

Thought he was just doing ice

It would be extremely difficult for him to play both based on the Icers' off-ice regimen.

He is just playing inline this semester, his knee isnt at full strength for ice yet(since he had knee surgery last December), he'll be playing both in the spring semester.

Good luck to him if he can play both but I don't think it will happen. We've had quite a few people here at OSU try it the last few years (myself included) but there is really no way to do both. The schedules just conflict too much.

Yeah, we've found it real difficult for ice guys wanting to play both. We just got lucky with schedules for this season, but it's hard to even get a guy to the minimum 6 games.

Playing both is very difficult..ive done it the past three years and will do it again this year...but i have had to miss a few ice games here and there. Dustin is a very good player and will help any team he plays for.

I really don't see the Icers clearing any player to play roller hockey, and since they play pretty much every week, I don't see him being able to do both (and Burke is right, they have a lot of off-ice conditioning, which won't help).

That's great for PSU if he does play, especially because I heard they're adding a really good graduate student to their roster. His name is Joe Malesic, and he reminds me of a young Phil Bourque. Look out ECRHA!

He is not playing Ice hockey the first semester, His knee is not strong enough yet, he wont be playing for the Icers until the spring semester. He will be playing Inline for them this year. Im sure he will get enough games in the fall semester to be eligible for playoffs. Trust me I think I would know;)

So the Icers are going to let him do both in the spring? They're going to let him risk injury skating with the roller hockey team when he's not with the ice team? When I was there, they wouldn't even let Icers skate in the intramural ice hockey leagues.

By the way, I just wanted to clarify that I'm not trying to argue here (I could care less what the kid does because I don't know him). I'm just saying I'm surprised to hear that the Icers staff would be OK with this, that's all.

Penn State is going to be a force this season.

If the Joe Malesic rumors are true, the ECRHA should just hand them the trophy at the Columbus Day Event.

But that trophy is for Excellence in Zookeeping. It's on loan to the ECRHA for the CDE, but I don't think they have the authority to re-award it to someone else. And then what about the parade?

I'm going to drag this one out of the archives because I'm curious (and because someone adamantly said it would happen), but what happened with Dustin Roux and the Icers?

Don't see him on the team's official roster on the ACHA page: http://www.achahockey.org/team_roster.php?team_id=12900&league_id=1059

If I recall from a conversation at Feasterville, he decided against playing for the Icers at all this season because he isn't healthy enough to play.

Hes not playing ice this season, due to him having knee surgery last year. He is just now starting to look like the player he was before the injury.
