My name is Jay Creel, I am the director of the Junior FireAnts Youth Development Program. Our program is directly affiliated with the Harford FireAnts of the AIHL and we are located in Central Connecticut. As many of you are aware, Matt Zuba and Jimmy Miller have been the brain trust for the FireAnts for many years, and we launched our Junior program to help develop young players and expose those players to the excitement tied to elite level roller hockey.

Our program kicked off in April of 2008 and we have 65+ players across 4 age divisions (8U-14U) and we are adding a 16U level in the coming months. Through a strong collaboration with the Harford FireAnts, including Matt, Jimmy, Coaches Furnari and Scheyd, the program has been moving in the right direction.

As we move into the fall months and the start of the inagural AIHL season, we are excited to be a part of the Hartford FireAnts present and future. We look forward to seeing several of our players in FireAnt uniforms over the coming years and we wish the FireAnts good luck in the 2008-09 season!!!!

Throughout the 2008 season we will be looking to grow our program, and if there are any players who live in the MA, CT, NY, RI area who have brothers, cousins, neighbors, or otherwise looking to benefit from a regimented program, I would be interested in speaking to you or the parents of those players. Our objective is to help grow competitive roller hockey and support the other organizations in the Elite Roller Hockey Leagues. Players who are eligible to play for their local affiliate should be directed to that team. We want to capture those players that are in proximity to Central Connecticut and are willing to commit to a program that is built on TEAM, PRIDE and DEDICATION!!!!

I am excited for the future and pleased with the results thus far and look forward to speaking with anyone who is interested in joining our program.

Jay,

You guys got a wonderful thing going and it's something that all Elite programs need to aspire to get to in their quest to help grow this sport. You guys are doing exactly what it takes to be successful and I tip my hat to you and your organization. Over the next year or so the Northern California Mustangs have the same vision and look forward to following in the Fireants footsteps.

Thank you for your commitment to excellence. I hope it serves as an example to all organizations of what needs to happen nationally to grow our great sport.

Regards,

Thanks guys for all the comments regarding our program.

We are very proud of what we have done to date and look forward to the coming AIHL season and the spring season. We hope to participate in some good local and hopefully get to the point where we can play in some regional tournaments. We recognize it will take time. It is great to see that there are opportunities developing all the time.

Good luck to all in the AIHL this season, especially the Ants!!!
