"TORHS Winter Trifecta 2008

St. Louis, MO

TORHS America is proud to announce the TORHS Winter Trifecta 2008. In previous years we have held our Winter Cup in Pennsylvania, but this year we are showcasing the tournament in three locations. New York, St. Louis, and Las Vegas will all be hosting TORHS Winter Trifecta held December 26th – 29th 2008.

“We talked about doing something different and special for all of our current and new customers. The idea of three events in three different locations being played over the same weekend really excited all of us at TORHS,” explained TORHS owner Ron Beilsten.

Let’s start with a look at the three locations from East to West. Skate Safe America is the East Coast home based out of Bethpage, New York. This facility is one of the nation’s best and has two full size floors. The staff at Skate Safe America are excited about the event and showcasing their beautiful building. As we head west we stop in St. Louis, Missouri. Matteson Square Garden is a two-rink facility that is one of the best in the region. The east and Midwest have always had a strong hockey base and these two events will certainly sell out. TORHS is excited about the opportunity to showcase our Tournament to the West Coast. The Las Vegas Roller Hockey Center will host the third piece of the Winter Trifecta. The LV Roller Hockey Center is a one-rink facility that is a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip. There will be teams at this event from all over the west. Las Vegas is a great vacation spot and when you add in the roller hockey it becomes the perfect trip.

There you have it…three rinks, three areas of the nation, and three amazing chances to play TORHS. Stay tuned for more information on this event, our Regionals Schedule, and our 2009 Nationals location. We are excited about the future…make sure to check our homepage at torhs.com for more updates."

Three locations - sounds like a great idea. But, December 26th, the day after Christmas? That seems kind of hard to schedule around.

Does anyone know if these tournaments will count as qualifiers for TORHS Nationals? (I'm guessing probably not)

There will be more written to explain about the Winter Trifecta, but just so everyone knows the 26th will start after 6 pm.

At my house we open the presents, eat a nice meal, and then at like 2 pm we are done for the day...and with everything until New Year's eve. So, that was our mindset.

We are excited about the locations, the idea, and the future for TORHS. We have a good relationship with many of the tournament series and know that the outlook is good for our game.

More to come...

OK Ian. Count on me being over on the 25th. I'm not a picky eater and a strong bantam defenseman would be good when we open the presents.

Ian - thanks for the input.

My concern is, if a team from the east wanted to play in either Vegas or St. Louis, they'd have to travel on Christmas Day. :(

We will work with certain situations with out of town teams. I will have more information soon on this event as well.

Thanks Steve.
