I feel like its five years ago with MLRH & PIHA going head to head. Anyway I was wondering with the AIHL having a tournament style schedule and more than likely PIHA will fill in the teams that left in some areas, will something be in place to where a player can only play one league? MLRH had this in place years ago but PIHA did not. Also has anyone emailed PIHA and if so was there a response?

I sent an email with a basic question just to see if they would reply within 24 hours like they said, its' been about 3 weeks now. All I asked was is there going to be a '09 season. I couldn't even get a yes or no.

My name is Jami Yoder. I would like to take a minute to let everyone know that my father and I have been responding to all e-mails sent to [email protected] We check this account at least 5 times a day. So if you are a player or owner with questions please feel free to e-mail or call Charley, CJ or myself at any time.

Looking forward to the "08/"09 PIHA season. Hope to see you on the floor,
Jami Yoder

It is not final on what AIHL will do. What was discussed at the meeting was that they MAY do both. It was proposed that each team will have 4 homes games vs one team and then each team will host a weekend. I could be wrong, so if anyone has more imput, please elaborate. But all this will be voted on by the owners as many other things.

AIHL is leaving scheduling up to the divisions team owners. That will be their choices of format

The attacking of PIHA needs to stop. I respect Jami for posting but make sure to be more public as a representative of PIHA front office. Now I am one of the people that went to the AIHL but this battle of what league is better has to stop. Like I have posted before PIHA and the AIHL have to move on. Best of luck to both and maybe someday in the near future they can merge.

Sorry for the wrong info about AIHL playing tourney style, I was under that impression.
And I have received a response from PIHA both on IHC and through my email answering my questions.

You are right Justin. Lets stop the bashing and move on. I know I have!

Hi Jami,

Thanks for posting. I appreciate it, especially knowing that many of the knocks on the PIHA have been over the top and unfair. (Specifically, the anonymous postings.) I think it's classy for you to come here and post after all that's transpired.

I'll cover the PIHA and the AIHL as fairly and honestly as I try to cover every other aspect of inline hockey.

Good luck in the future, and thanks again for posting.

This might seem like a very dumb question. But does anybody know if the players in the PIHA, or the AIHL for that matter, get paid to play.

Some do, some don't!

i enjoyed playing piha. However, my current team is merging over to the aihl, as long as its a good league i am fine with. Especially because my organization foots the bill to allow us to play for free, and travel free for the most part. As far as i know, no one currently gets paid to play. A few players told me there teams were switching as well because they were tired of traveling 4-8 hours to play two- 24 minute games and go back home. Personally, i dreaded those 6-8 hour trips. I was also told aihl was going to attempt to make a tournament style weekend. example, a team like richmond would travel 6 hours to harrisburg and boston would travel to harrisburg and those few teams would play eachother to make more use out of the weekend. I hate to see so many good teams split across two league (being piha and aihl)

Does sound like AIHL offers some positive changes. Looking forward to that. Kinda disappointed about no cash prize though.
