Does the relationship with USA hockey have anything to do with the Nationals Location?

I noticed from the vidoes James posted that the Colorado rinks were USA hockey rinks and I know Matteson TriPlex is also a USA rink.

If thats the case it for sure limits the amounts of possiable national locations.

Not at all. If you go back to 2003-2004, we were at Anaheim Hockey Club who I believe at that time was self-insured. Not sure about the other years and if they are USAHIL rinks, but that is not a consideration of ours.

How about bringing the NCRHA nationals to San Jose next April. The facility seems to be a big hit with NARCh.

Hey The Stiff,

Not a bad idea, considering the excellence of this facility. However, I think they ought to put in a hotel on the property, too. ;)

There is a Holiday Inn about 3.5 miles from the rink. However, I don't think they were one of the designated Narch hotels. There is also a Marriot Residence Inn about 4 miles away.

Let's support the Narch hotels while Narch is going. However, there are other closer options when other events occur.

Hi old hockey mom,

I'm all about just skating to the rink from the hotel to the bar to the nightclub to the hospital to the movies... ;)

With gas prices the way they're going, all-in-one events sound like a potential wave of the future.

You are right. Wish I could skate myself instead of just yelling at my kids.

Hi old hockey mom,

We'll take out the soccer fields, add two more inline rinks, get started later in the day and finish earlier, and use one for recreational pickup games for moms, dads and overweight journalists...

We stayed at a really nice place (which was very close) for NARCh, the Dolce Hayes Mansion.

As far as next year's location, I believe that they are already pretty much working with a facility for it, so if San Jose were to be the next stop, it would likely need to be for the 2010 championships.

The NCRHA has certainly considered and discussed the possibilities with the Rollin' Ice folks...even prior to this past years event. Unfortunately, there are circumstances that doesn't make it a viable option in the very near future. We will however, have the 2009 location announced early on in the season!
