I have a general NARCh Procedural Question: My team has a game at 12am; however, 4 out of our 7 players are also playing down a division and have a game at 11:20pm on a different surface. If one of the surfaces gets ahead/behind such that the 1st game is still going on when the 2nd game needs to start, how does this work? Does NARCh hold up the 2nd game until the 1st game is over? Obviously we're not traveling all the way out there to forfeit our first game just because of a scheduling issue, so any input would be greatly appreciated so I can plan accordingly.

I can't imagine that they would hold a game up with 400 plus games on the agenda. Hopefully you will get an answer from someone in the know, but I wouldn't count on them holding up the entire schedule. And, remember if the one game is on rink 1 and your players have to travel to rink 2 or 3, they may have to take their skates off.
I know that the skates off rule stinks, but it was the only way the place could get insurance for this great facility.
Good luck!!

Hi old hockey mom,
I plan to be at NARCh for the last few days of the event, from perhaps July 24-27. Ask someone where I am and come by to say hello, if you get the chance. It would be nice to meet you.

No. they specifically say that they will not hold up games for players and they will not accept scheduling requests. We've had this happen before too. it's the risk you run when you play more than one division. Send one player from one rink to the other and start with four guys, then you won't forfeit.

Glad I don't play in Narch.....At least Torhs and AAU will work around teams with schedule conflicts.

On several instances, each occuring in different years at NARCh Finals - the NARCh "Powers to Be" always made an exception to the "30 minute rule" if the team in question was playing on another rink in another age division.
Since many teams pay 2, and sometimes 3, team fees to play in different divisions - it would just be bad business for them to penalize a team that got cought up in the scenario that was presented. No one would ever want to go back and play in a NARCh Finals with more than one team if NARCh didn't make exceptions to accommodate the scenario.
All you have to do is talk to either Pat, Randy, whomever - and word will get to the top (aka Daryn) real fast and you'll be satisfied with the response you receive. And, if you see Daryn, and he's not hard to find, he's always approachable and he'll give you his undivided attention.
Feel free to shoot me a private message and I'll be more than happy to discuss your concerns. But, trust me, I'm sure it will all work out. IMO - It always has worked out, and no reason not to believe it always will work out.

Just give them some notice, don't wait till 5min before one game is about to start.

haha, well yeah i mean you can work around any schedule conflict when the schedule's reposted every day of the tournament!

last year at narch our team had a problem like this. our team and team tour were both playing at the same time as the ncrha great plains allstars both our goalie and team tours goalie played for the great plains allstars, the problem was bought to the attention of an event director and they basically just delayed the nrcha game till the division 1 games were done so neither team would have to forfeit or play without a goalie.

Just to let you know TORHS does NOT change thier schedule under any circumstance. At Nationals this year because one rink was 3 hours behind the JRaaa Semi finals and the Mens Finals were at the same time and neither game was moved or delayed. The ISCA Grizzlies in JR and The Center Circle Titans in Mens had 3 players incommon all 3 possibly the top 3 on both teams had to choose between what game they wanted to play, all 3 players did not play on the same team thus both teams lost good games. Heres the kicker, it was TORHS fault the games were at the same time because the one rink was 3 hours behind, still they could get away with not moving the game but George the guy who runs the series told parents and players from both team that the game was going to be moved so 2 players from ISCA didnt even know the Center Circle game was going on, thats just low. See you everyone this week at NARCh, where games times flex for the players convienience. This is a business we are consumers, TORHS has lost my business.
