Congratulations Joe Furnari!!!

I just wanted to congratulate Joe Furnari, head coach of the Hartford Fire Ants, for being chosen coach of the year. I consider myself very good friends with a number of people in the Fire Ants organization and have had the opportunity to have in depth discussions with them throughout the season as to what they thought had played the biggest part in improving their team in '07-'08 and the 1st thing that always came up was Coach Furnari. The team bought into everything that their coach implemented and their record and overall results proved that. After a tough '06-'07 campaign, the Fire Ants really turned things around this past season and with Coach Furnari behind the bench, I would expect them to further improve in '08-'09. Way to go Joe!

Congrats to you Joe! I have heard nothing but wonderful things about you and your organization throughout the league. I am glad that the award went to someone who has shown integrity and performed as a class act on his bench and with his team. With 40 some odd teams in the league this year, that is a huge honor among peers. Best of hockey to you and the FireAnts in your future endeavors. Joe has done a great job in his first year on this team, he has exceeded expectations of a first year coach, with a team that struggled last year. We are all very excited to have him locked in for next year (everyone- don't even think about stealing him away from us).
