Since the Dragons team didn't get anything else paid for by the league because the other teams in their division didn't pay, will they get the prize money or will the piha "I" players split it up??????????

As Someone who has known Josh Larrichia since he was 8 years old and a former employee of the Gretzky center, no one derserves this more than he does.

Connecticut is a two man team. Sorry to say, but a two man team. Glad to see eight west coast boys show the East coast boys and the real tough guy Mcgeown or Mcgoon or whatever his name is what hockey is all about.

You can all quote me on this, Congrats to the Dragons, you've shown us that the west has the best. I mean it sincerely. Watching Connecticut and two guys pummel one player with us was enough and be proud of it with taunts from the bench was enough. Justice served. Larrichia for president!!!!!

yeah West Coast!

no way! Where's the coast in AZ? You can't claim that! :cool:D

See what happens when you do it right and it pays off even after nothing else went right. Karma?

congrats WEST coast and to the Dragons

Congrats to the Dragons, they proved me and a lot of other people wrong.* Wish I could have been there, all close games.* Just saw the team picture up on the PIHA site, that has to be the least amount of players I have seen for a championship photo.* They only had 8 skaters and a golaie. Wow with that many players and 6 games in less then 2 days, that is a lot of skating with a short bench. Well I quess the younger team proved to be better then the veteran Blaze.

Congrats to the Blaze for a great season. Must be tough to lose but what a good year. Well we will all see how the 2008-2009 pans out. From what I hear a lot of teams are not returning and I do not blame any of them.

We were pretty happy it didn't go to a Game 7. We only had 8 skaters and our top 2 players both played 5 more games for that PIHA International showcase.

Blaze's backup goalie played real well in Game 6. Pinheiro was impressive. I expected that. Goulet was awesome too. Roger Lee was unbeatable in Games 3 and 4.

Every single game was decided in the final minute. The biggest deficit was when we lost by 3 but we were down 2 in the final few minutes with a 3 on 2 powerplay, so that was still up for grabs until the final seconds as well until they added an empty netter.

We definitely proved some things this weekend, being able to win with that number of skaters, a really young group, our style of play, etc. It's cliche, but we really did get contributions from every single guy. I guess you have to when you're only running 8 skaters and playing team after team that has 12 skaters and 2 goalies. Very proud to do this in our inaugural season in the league and to be the first team west of Pennsylvania to win this league.

Anyway, just some thoughts on this past weekend's games. I think we'll enjoy this for a while before getting involved in the politics of what's going to happen next season...
