Looks like it was a great series out there in Colorado last night. Anyone at the game who can tell me why Blizzard were able to be so dominant with a 5-1 win in Game 1? Was not having Ciolli that big of a factor for the Thunder?

And Blizzard still pushed them to OT in Game 2 and lost by a goal in Game 3...just looking at rosters and going off individual talent it seems the Thunder should have overwhelmed the Blizzard but that wasn't the case. Any particular reasons why? Just an interested observor...who may also have to play the Thunder in San Jose, haha.

Ciolli made a big difference in Games 2 and 3. We played good team hockey all night. Olson was on his game and Kevin Turner was awesome between the pipes. Watch out for the Thunder's Powerplay, if you give them a chance to score they will. We stayed out of the box for most of the night. When we took penalties they took advantage. Good luck to both teams in San Jose! Should be some great hockey.

I thought I would throw my 2cents in as well. It was an unbelievable night of hockey. Kevin Turner played great and that is what we needed him to do. Matt Olson in his Last Piha series ever showed why he is the BEST player in the Rocky Mtn Division. He scored big goals all night long and he did it against the Cioli Yoder Yingling line. They could not stop him and I think he ended the night with 8 goals in the series. I thought we had them. With 1 minute left in regulation we missed an open net and then in overtime one of our good scorers had a break away and ended up hitting the goalie in the butt end. Then Yinging scored on just a nasty snipe to give them the win. Penalties cost us the win in the last game. we outscored them again 4 on 4. Don't give them powerplays as you will pay the price. They were missing Cioli in the first game and with out him they really didnt have enough. Kevin played great in that first game as well but we saw last year that when its just Yoder and Yingling they couldnt even make the playoffs. Yes Cioli means that much to that team! However we were missing our 2nd leading scorer from our team the entire night with Nate Seader being out of town. The fans were amazing and that place was rocking like Ive never seen. I just want to give a shot out to The OShow, as he is leaving for Houston to work for NASA. Its been the most amazing time playing with you O and you truly are the Sickest player in our state! The entire team played well, but just came up a bit short. Good luck to all in the playoffs, its been an unbelievable season out here in the RMD!

Dan Lamb didn't have a number on his jersey last night because Olsen had it! Scotty I wouldn't go as far as saying that Olsen is the best player in the state..... Thats a little much, but he was a snipe show all over the rink... Top 5 probably. If it wasn't for the dumb Drapal penalty with 6 minutes left in the game the Blizzard may have still won. Kevin Turner was great in net..... I knew the Blizzard had the goalie advantage. In my own opinion the Blizzard top to bottom are a better team...... Its just too overwhelming having 3 of the best players in the sport on the same line and power play. Gatta hand it to the two twins on the Thunder. There were many penalties taken on them and played solid all night and came to play when none of the other thunder players would step up!

Correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I'm just looking at box scores here, but with 7 assists on the Thunder's 10 goals, it seems like Shayne Carroll really stepped up for them.

The Southside Snipers for the second consecutive year defeated the Tornadoes in the Midwest Championship.

The Snipers will have to face the Thunder, while the Dragons face the Mustangs.

All i have to say is thank godness that one of the Pirate teams lost, what a nightmare it would have been to see a Pirates vs Pirates Final...hahaha

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Shayne! He is a damn good player and he played well. He is a tough cookie!
