I was surfing the web for some new goalie wheels and i keep seeing these Hyper Zero-g carbon wheels that go for $20 each. I have yet to see anyone wear these, so i'm just curious if anyone has ever forked up the money and tried these very expensive wheels. Everyone i know that plays out, uses labeda or rinkrats.

tempting, I saw them in the shop and thought 'how mcuh lighter can a wheel possibly be?!" till i picked it up. Still, way to expensive, particularly if the wheel/nd turns out to not be quite right for what you like. e.g. the difference between hyper trinity/duality which was awesome, and the hyper trinity flex core, which sucked.
Not a bad record of trying out expensive but cool ideas at Hyper though - remember the pneumatic ones you could pump up like a car tyre and tune the air pressure.

they came on some of the Mission HE10000 skates for a bit, a few people I know had them, liked them well enough, but not near enough to pay $20 a wheel for

Exactly, I can barely stand paying like $7 or $8 per wheel.

I thought they were awful for the money they were. I got them on the HE10k boots and took them off after 4 skates.
Anyone that concious about the weight of a wheel i.e. a couple grams ... well you should just give up hockey and go join the Artistic Swimming class

They just seemed not to have much grip and started to shred after 2 skates.
Guess I was so used to playing on Rink Rats, with the dual hardness that a wheel that was all the same hardness just didn't feel right. And even when RR's shred, they still keep their grip and speed.
Zero's Felt slower than Rats and then slippy in the turn.
I'm on Revisions now, which I must say are awesome. Esp with the choice of hardess offered, none of which seem to impact grip significantly, hence can go with a harder wheel for my size and get more speed. I'm about 160lbs and go with a Platinum on the front to "dig in" when starting to sprint, but the rest are the Golds for the back 3 wheels.
