I am in the process of moving to Lutherville Timonium, MD in June. Does anybody know of any roller (or ice) hockey rinks in the area? Other major cities in the area are Towson and Baltimore.

Thanks for your help.

Patrick,

I actually live only a mile or two north of where you're moving to.

Your two nearest choices are:

Harrisburg, PA - http://www.susq-sports.com/
Laurel, MD - http://www.thegardensicehouse.com

Both are 45 mins to an hour away.

the laurel league is pretty solid with both ice and inline but prices are a LITTLE outrageous. Not to mention theyreally dont give a damn about the inline league or the people who play in it. Waldorf would be a bit of a drive but its the best facility in the area although i am a little biased.

Thanks for all the advice. I tried googling Waldorf hockey rink and I didn't see anything for their site...do they have a web site?

Laurel is a good league. Is a USA Hockey Inline league and the ice league is also a USA Hockey League. I think hes just upset nobody from his team last year checked the schedule and they missed the championship game....

I was trying to avoid going into detail about this but since smiller brought it up:
My personal issue with laurel is that they decided come mid season to start using a new website. They then posted their playoff schedule on both websites; however one website said the championship game was on a wednesday and the other said Thursday. www.thegardensicehouse.com which said it was the official website for schedules had the game posted for thursday. When my team was not there on wednesday the league told us we forfitted. When we tried to discuss the issue with the rink owners they refused to return our calls and then refused to see us when we tried going to the rink. I find this to be very poor service. It is because of this that we decided not to play this summer.

However, the DC bullets are looking to host iron man tournaments at the Capital Clubhouse throughout the summer. Anyone looking for high level roller hockey in the maryland area can private message me for more info.

That sounds like a pretty crappy way to win a championship. If I were the other team I would have made them schedule the game again.

Laurel is a little to far for me...about 45-50 minutes it looks like. I'll probably check out freestate since that is only about 20 minutes away. If their hockey (level of play and rink/surface) suck, I'll have to drive the 45-50 min to Laurel.

Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.
