So back in the day when I played inline hockey on a sports court, we played 5 on 5 counting the goalies. (3 forwards a defensemen and a goalie) at the time I assumed it was because the court we played on was much smaller then regulation.
Now my kid is starting to play Inline Hockey at a different location then I did and I see they are still playing 5 on 5. The court is enormous. In the 8u division you could fit all of the kids in the crease box of 1 goal. It seems to me the game would be better if they played full ice hockey strength. Having 2 defensemen, especially when you are on offense to open things up and create more passing opportunities seems obvious.
What is the thought of not playing 6 v 6, even at the adult level?
Is 5 V 5 universal in inline hockey?
Now for the really dumb question;
There is no Blue line on our sports court, is there offsides?
