every year i hear people talkin, sayin if they played in the GP and could play lindenwood 3 times a year they would have a better chance of beating them. I wanna know honestly what teams think they could hang with or beat lindenwood...its the same story every year. so please let me know if you think your team has what it takes. and hopefully at nationals you will prove yourself.

I think the next DI champion other than Lindenwood will be whoever figures out that there's nothing stopping them from stacking up a team with current or former NHL players. I'm sure there are some NHL players who would think it's fun to sign up for a few classes, put on a college uniform, and play some inline just for s--ts and giggles.

It took us four times...not just three. :)
According to boxscores, we're the only team to lead LU by two goals since their last loss (November 2004). We did it twice this season.
That's the key. Grab the lead and hang on. (You must score when you get the power play.) If they jump up by two or three, you're not gonna beat them.
On the rare occasion that they don't pull away from someone, they do a great job of shortening the game once they have a lead of a couple goals. Back in November, they had a two-goal lead, burned off the final two and a half minutes of the second period on a delayed penalty, then scored on the subsequent power play. Game over.

I know. My response about the NHL players had very little to do with your original post...my second post was me killing time at work.

I won't be, but someone from our B team will be taping all the UMSL DI games with my camcorder. I'll be helping coach. (I want to try to have highlights up on Youtube every night, but that kind of thing never seems to work out.)
I'll probably tape random games here and there as well.

Their performance at Regionals notwithstanding, Stony Brook is a very talented and deep team. I would not be surprised if they could skate with LU for an entire game and give them a run.
Neumann and Buffalo are two other schools that I feel have the overall depth to hang with the Lions. Neumann might be a little undersized, but they definitely have the speed and talent. Of course, because of Divisions, you won't see a Neumann/LU game, but maybe someday.
