Rocky Mountain Division Scores from Friday Night:
Minor:
Southwest Fire-4, Front Range Thunder-2
Southwest Fire-5, Front Range Thunder-3
PRO:
Lakewood Fire-3, Colorado Springs Thunder-2 (OT)
Lakewood Fire-2, Colorado Springs Thunder-6
Tour arena was packed! Standing room only. The Fire came to play, including Kyle Mikel (G), who played out of his mind the first game and should have been the first start of the night. He played unbelievable in net making rediculous save after save. The Fire were able to pull out the win in the first game in overtime (3-2) with Brian Roger's laser shot that capped a very intense first game. The second game was just as intense, if not more. Both sides took alot of penalties, and that lead to special teams play for the majority of that game. Thunder special teams prevailed and won 6-2.
The night ended with the results from a silent jersey auction to help raise money for the family of Riley Siver. It has become an annual event, and this year over $2,400 was raised for the "Go Green for Charity" event. The jerseys auctioned off looked great! Each jersey was worn by the players during the games that night for the charity event.....Good times:)

AJ, I can do the math. I wasn't debating that. But they still have to win them to do so. I wont debate it is a competitive division. But the most? ehhhh...well see. But the post was made that they have the best record pretty much locked up. Which obviously isnt the case to date.

Interesting games in Phoenix last night between Phoenix Dragons and El Paso Black Diamonds...
Minor
Phoenix 1, El Paso 0
Phoenix 3, El Paso 1
Phoenix took both games, 1-0 and 3-1, handing El Paso just their 2nd and 3rd losses of the season. If I remember correctly, that means these minor teams have split their 6 meetings at 3 wins each. Phoenix is still only team to beat El Paso.
Pro
Phoenix 4, El Paso 3 (OT)
El Paso 6, Phoenix 4
Phoenix fought off a hungry El Paso team in the first game, scoring late to tie the game, and winning it 4-3 in OT on a high glove snipe by Danny Marmorstein. Playing the first game with 7 skaters left Phoenix unable to match the intensity and emotion of El Paso in the second game. Black Diamonds got an early lead and a potential late comeback was eliminated with a late goal by Jimmy Rodriguez and an empty netter to seal it. El Paso is still the only non-Phoenix team to beat either Phoenix team (Dragons and Strike). They visit the Desperados later today in Tucson to finish the roadtrip and get a leg up on clinching that last playoff spot.

These games were postponed due to the snow and ice storm in pittsburgh. The bandits were unable to travel.
Have those recent South Carolina/Savannah games been rescheduled or what's the deal with that?

the new Stingers played Saturday night in Raleigh, the scores haven't been posted yet because the games aren't in the PIHA site so I can't fill them in. The scores were:
Pro:
Raleigh Assault 10, Williamsburg Stingers 1
Raleigh Assault 9, Williamsburg Stingers 3
Minor:
Apex Assault 5, Williamsburg Stingers 2
Apex Assault 2, Williamsburg Stingers 1
The Stingers looked much better, unfortunately for them, the Assault had their ENTIRE roster in uniform for the 1st time this year.
El Paso Black Diamonds vs. Tucson Desperados
Pro
El Paso took both pro games to open up a 6 point lead over Tucson for the third and final playoff spot in the Southwest. These two teams split the season series at 5 games a piece, and now they both finish up the rest of their schedule against the two Phoenix teams. This is trouble for Tucson who has yet to earn a point against either Phoenix team. They have 6 games in hand on El Paso but will need to steal a few to jump into the playoffs.
Minor
El Paso won both minor games, putting their record at 21-3 so far.
