Tons of great players in the league. Those are just a few I know off hand, im sure if i go through all the teams the list would be alot longer. Those are the impact players in D1. And yes, i know i missed a bunch.

in D2 Either goalie on WCU would be a solid choice. Plus Will Duke from WCU had a great regional tournament for WCU, not to mention good stats for the season and Gray Privette is probally on of the best defensive defensemen you can play against
Personally i like my picks b/c they are not biased as I do not play/coach for any team in the NCRHA...although I've seen many secrhl tournys...
and since the topic should be addressed...here is the all-SE region team:

Richard Choelo never played for bcc this year. I am pretty sure somoene just wore his number on accident. More BCC players should be on the all star team, they have way more talent than the D1-D2 teams, but just a horrible/retarded goalie.

Ryan Weekes is listed as defense for Elon but has played offense all this year and last year. Adjust your listings accordingly.

On the Elon site he is listed as defense. That could be the confusion.

I wouldn't take anything away from any of the defencemen listed. I observed all of these players at two different tounaments. When Fritz decided to step up to the next level, he controlled the play at will... with very little support. On the other hand, his strength of scheduale was little to be desired. Gloveside

There is no way. I think UF alone or BCC could easily beat that team. If you put Napert in net and Blake Johnson, Hayes, Freeborn, Ruhmel, Meyer, or Scotty Johnson the other team would not score.
IllSnipeYouAll
03-18-2008, 05:33 AM
there is absolutely no way, i mean 0%, that the D2 all star team mentioned would beat a d1/d3 all star team in this region. it wouldnt even be a contest. im not trying to talk sh*t or anything like that but its just the straight truth. ive seen all the players in this region play and theres just no way at all.

I dont think gloveside meant a D1 allstar team, just any D1/D3 team. A D2 allstar team could definitely challenge UF, UCF, or BCC

As a youth coach and a player under a DII mens ice hockey coach, I have one thing to say about a DII all star team taking on a DI/DIII team. The DII all star team would get the crap kicked out of them. All Star teams don't stand a chance againsed players that are used to playing with eachother, even if they lack in skill.

03-19-2008, 10:16 PM
Has anyone actually seen these players live? They are all D-I players that would be one of the top three players on any resrective SECRHL D-I team. Don't be totally fooled by the D-II level of play as a whole... Gloveside

Seen and played against all of them. The only one who i think would make a DI all star team would be weekes.

Yes, i think they are, I just got an email from Ed saying we need to nominate players by april 1st so they can pick "the most competitive team possible."

Dont you ever quote me again Daniel Ivan Caudy (DIC) or I will say i saw you and Pfeffer making out at regionals.
I just got that email. I didnt think they were doing it because Dispenziry or however you spell it, set it up last year.
Also, I'm not being a doosh but why do I see Zach Summers on so many All Star teams? There are so many defensemen that would be a better fit on offense. He is a great player don't get me wrong and im not bashing him. He fits the UF system perfectly but at the All Star game speed is such a huge factor, especially on thoughs big floors. I just am surpised that Jesse Meyer isn't getting more looks then him.

i agree with the above ^^^. I heard that Ed Luther will be picking the secrhl allstar team. How is this the best method if he has never been to any of the tournys? Im assuming they will be decided purely on stats. which i must say are very poorly recorded.

Just to stir the pot a little...I would also insert that picking an all-star team based on how the individual player's will gel as a team to compete against the other teams would be just as poor of a method. The team should be the "best" players from each respective region regardless of how they will stack up at the actual all-star game.
Think 1979 NHL All-Star team losing to the Russians. Individually they out matched the Russians...but as a team they got smoked.
On the contrary...think 1980 Olympics. Russians individually outmatched the US team, but the Americans played better as a team...with a bit of help from lady luck! ;-)
While I certainly agree that stats for the games are far from accurate, they represent the only way we can quantify a players production from an un-bias point of view. If players are concerned (in the future) about their stats...they should make sure their information is correct on the roster prior to the game AND verify the stats after the game.

JMU is number one in the division with a good year and you won't add any of their players? A little injustice or a little bias maybe?
