great plains with 5 isnt surprising, it's perfect. would someone like to explain to me how sam houston slipped in AGAIN? and i'm sorry but UC riverside doesnt belong over the 3 ecrha alternates.... if sam houston drops out and another east team ends up going, the bids will look pretty solid, but i still fail to see some of the logic...

i don't know about the other regions but after the top 3 in the great plains it's pretty weak, and since great plains got 5 bids that either means that some teams got the shaft or the talent level just isn't there. someone from the other regions have any opinion on it?

I agree that the top 3 teams have more talent than the other 2 in the GP. However, I think you are wrong in saying that there is a dropoff. We beat SLU twice, tied MSU (playing them to 3 decent games), and played Truman to a 1 goal game. I agree that we do not have as nearly as a talented team as Truman, MSU, or SLU. These guys can skate circles around us at times, but we play a disciplined game and saying we cannot compete with these teams is not quite accurate in my opinion.

I don't know how good the 3 Ecrha alternates are, but I just wanted to let you know that UC Riverside is a very solid team. I don't go there, in fact I am a player on Cal Poly Pomona, but UC Riverside's team is a very good team. Throughout the season they gave us and University of California San Diego a run for our money. They have a very big and solid goalie who is very hard to score on and it is complimented with some good forwards.
Anyway, I wouldn't count them out they are a pretty good team.

Your right they didn't beat the top three teams (Cal Poly Pomona, UCSD, and CSUSB), but I will still say they are a very solid team. They had some very close games against the top three teams and there only down fall was a 10-1 loss in the semi finals to my team (cal poly). But the loss seemed to be more of a break down than anything.

UC Riverside has alwalys been a great team, if their whole team shows up. I think they will be just fine in nationals as well as the rest of the west coast I am glad to see the west get all the bids that they do, last year we ( nevada ) snuck in with our worst season ever, which made everyone pretty much mad. We ended up in the elite eight, which was our worst outing in nationals, but lost to UMSL which was and still is a great team. Many thought we weren't deserving, but we proved we were. Some regions should only get one bid (southwest, midwest, southeast should only get two) while many should get there five, six or seven considering where their teams have finished in the last few years. (Great Plains, East Coast, and the West)
