I received registration forms today from NARCH for the Winternationals tournament and noticed a "college" division that has been added. I wonder what response will be received from the current college teams for the event and how actual "college players" will be verified. It seems like a great event for college teams to participate before heading to CRHL Nationals. I just hope that the teams will be legitimate college (recognized by their campus) teams that will showcase the talent of the CRHL at a high level tournament like Winternationals.

Iowa State might be sending a team to Narch, if we can scrounge up enough players. We are a pretty new club, but we have lots of previous Narch, Airhs, and other tourney experience. Its a great opportunity to let us college players showcase our talent in a more visible spot than the CRHL.

Hey men,

Im sure many midwest teams will be showing off their talents at Narch this winter, and i will be attending the first MCRHL tournament as a spectator, so i will ask around to see what i can find, and let you know, probably monday or tuesday? and for the IOWA STATE boy, have you talked to Aaron Heschel about joing the CRHL? Im sure the MCRHL would love to have an Iowa team in the league?

sincerely

This is very interesting. We just put our team together out here, but we're already gotten in touch with a travel agent to figure out how much this would cost all-in-all. ;)

Depending on whether the players can afford it, you may see a Drexel team making the flight from Philadelphia to Vegas.

Hi Travis,

It's now official. Check out the story on IHC's Home Page. I think this is great news for both the CRHL and NARCh, and it will add another dimension to NARCh's fantastic WinterNationals event. I look forward to seeing the action in the NARCh College Division this coming January!

Sincerely,

I'm pretty curious as to how this is going to be run. Will it be like other ETS events where the teams are placed "invite-only"?

We have alot of players who are interested in coming out (and other club members who have "vices"), so I want to get our registration in. Should we apply for the tournament without invite from the CRHL?

Any answers would be cool.

Hey Chloro,

My team is actually in the MCRHL, and i know this because i attended the Ft. Wayne tournament where my former team didnt do to well, however, some teams i know for a fact will be participating in nearby neighboring regions for thier tournaments. But i had no idea that you guys or youre team would be participating in the Great Plains Region and my best of luck goes out to you and youre team for this upcoming season. But as for you playing in the Midwest region, how long ago did you play for college of dupage, because when i played for ISU, we used to play COD all the time?

I think the big question surronding this Winternationals.........when are the invitations going to go out?? Teams need to be able to get all there plans going soon, so it's not too expensive. Also, does anyone know how the bids are determined??

ISURollerBoy...

I played for them in the 98-99 season. I took my final season at COD off due to problems with both knees...but im up and running mostly recovered now. What still hurts, painkiller and anti-inflammatories take care of...but i wont miss any more hockey! ;) Thanks for the kind words. We are off to a 2-1 start so far, and we are confident that there is no team in our division that we cant beat when we are playing well. Good luck to the other ISU this year also.

Hey chloro,

good luck to youre team this season in the GPRHL, i hope you guys do well in youre first season, plus keep me posted on the like of all the teams down there and just maybe i can write some articles about the great plains region? let me know who the snipers are and what the teams are like and i can post something? plus are you guys going to winternationals in vegas? You should email haschel and ask him if you guys can visit the tournament in chicago which is probably like five hours away from iowa? it would be a good experience for you guys to check out different regions? plus i think our school is gonna visit another region hopefully sometime this year?
any questions, just gimmee a hollar, my email address is [email protected] or if you just wanna chat then thats cool too?
