Congrats goes out to Joey D'alosio/Manny Rayo from the Philadelphia Growl for this weekends past performance in Long Island playing Narch Pro with the Savage Wolves. Having the lowest GAA and best Save % on a team that went 0-3 ... not too bad

I dont know if Narch gave them both the award or just Joey but they both played great.
We are not a high scoring Narch Pro team so we need great goaltending... so a 2-1 loss to the mudcats, a 5-3 loss to the snipers and a 2-0 loss to pama, is not all that bad from a goaltending point of view in my opinion.

Pinhero jumped ship to the snipers after 4 years with us, but they won it all, so i guess it was a good move.
Sweet. Good to see a PIHA group having a good showing at NARCh. Look forward to seeing you guys compete at Finals in San Jose.

well record wise we didn't have a good showing, BUT i guess you can look at it that we were in every game, we are happy with that ... It's not the easiest thing jumping right into Pro, a lot of teams we see get mercied out trying, so we are happy we are somewhat competative.

That is pretty impressive to have the top goalies in those categories and fail to win a game. Good Job by the goalies and defense. Maybe next time the offense can get going and you guys could win some games. The two pro games i took in over the weekend were pretty decent, but i couldn't watch with any consistency because they just happened to be going on when i was at the rink to watch some friends play and i was stuck standing behind the 2 deep crowd.
Good Luck in the future

Wow. That is some good stuff there. Congrats to both Joe and Manny, two very good goaltenders. As long as those two guys are there, the Growl will be in very good shape for a long long time.

That is a pretty good team they put together! The guys I have seen play like Goulet and Interbartolo are good players. It looks to me that this team could use a couple of goal scoring speedsters to keep up with the Tommy Bruces and Travis Fudges in these types of tournaments. I could be wrong though!!Some of those guys on the team could be just that..... Im just guessing. What was it that kept you guys from pulling out a few wins?

I watched your game vs Pama and you guys looked pretty damn good to me. You sure had your chances to score against them. And, I thought not having Keating and Pinhero made a difference. (Meaning, I think they were missed.)

FYI - Joe D'Aloisio was selected as Tournament MVG!

I didn't think NARCh did an tournament MVG. Or do you mean Top Goalie, save % wise in the Pro Division?
If they did a tournament MVG, is this something new that they're going to start doing, ala TORHS?

I have the award in my possession, so I guess that is our answer. Here is hoping they do even more.

What Anthony has in his possession is the Top goaltender award which is given to the goaltender with the best save %. The duo on the Savage Wolves shared the award. They both earned it and deserved it because they faced a lot of shots in the tournament and did an outstanding job.
In getting to watch Joe play against the Mission Snipers, I was very very impressed. He played one hell of a game. Also, there is an interview up with Joe on Narch.com.

Very cool. Thanks guys! I think its awesome to have an entirely PIHA roster compete in the top level of tournament roller hockey.
Getting a top goaltender award like this against 3 great teams (and 4 proven goaltenders) is one of the best things I've won in my 13 years of playing.
Next up I'm gonna shoot for a win! ;)

Joe,
Congrats on the award, but seriously... don't "shoot" for anything... concentrate on the goaltending and not the scoring.

Thanks Doug - I thought that's what he meant.
