heres to the hilltoppers

apparently the western kentucky hilltoppers have gone east and folded in the middle of the great plains season. i for one am flummoxed as to how a kentucky school reaches into the plains, but i digress. the hilltop is no more. wherever you may be western kentucky we salute you and your efforts. this brings me to my next point how about those wildcats from k-state. k-state is legitimately the only school actually in the plains, thus, i would be amiss to not point out that perhaps they should be the great plains champions each year. missouri state sits just past the edge of the plains, but its the wildcats who live amidst the wheat and dust. k-state deserves a trip to nationals. 1) they have to be the nicest group of people i have come across in the game. 2) there coach is the epitomy of class and kindess. while they are perrenial bottom of the division finishers these folks drive 6-7 hours knowing they are going to lose and yet they keep working year in year out. i for one look forward to the day when the wildcats compete for the division title.

with that in mind let me digress into a school which i cannot explain. truman state. you are in kirksville, missouri. harry s. was born in lamar and lived in independence. lamar is in far southwest missouri. independence is in northwest missouri. before being truman state you were northeast missouri. this is geographically inconsistent. if any of your players are seeking a geography degree i hope to god they dont join the air force after graduation or we may bomb the wrong country. then again perhaps it was a truman graduate who saw the weapons of mass destruction from a satelite in iraq, when they were really looking at iran. i believe mark twain is the master of your domain. i have decided to rename truman state to huckleberry sawyer community college. your nickname is now the whitewashers. if we are going to banty about and just pick an icon to name our schools after i have a few suggestions.

missouri state is hereafter going to be named carnahan college. yes he may be from rolla, but umr is reaching out to be called alice university. washington university. now wash u poses quite a dilemma. unknown to most of you wash u had rejected repeated efforts of members of the busch (anheuser busch) to gain admittance into the school. after one of the busch's, while enrolled at arizona state, killed a girl drunk driving, but was acquitted, wash u, still not granting admittance, allowed the busch's to pay for the new law school and have it named busch school of law. here's to the king of beers for they tore down the greatest work of russian architecture in the midwest to hoist their name in u. city. wash u you are now wal-mart university, for selling out to the classless rich and arrogant.

if your not from the midwest, or in our world the misplaced great plains, these ramblings mean nothing. simply a diversion.

i got carried away with watching the stock market and left out some other clear name changes:

middle tenn. state is now south central middle tennesee state university at murfreesboro northern memphis campus in arkansas

the so. illinois salukis are now the greyhound lincolns. the new mascot is now a greyhound breaking from the box with an abe lincoln goatee.

meramec is changing its nickname to the dioxinites.

st. charles community college shall now be the cussing table dancers.

st. louis university, nah i'll leave that alone the billiken is bad enough.

illinois state shall now be the fighting cowboys

in honor of those missourians who think the state is missoura mizzou is now mizza and the tiger is hereby replaced with a calico cat.

umsl you have gone from being above the missippi to swimming in the ocean. i hereby dub umsl the fighting guppies.

missouri state is aptly named the bears (as is wash U) i suppose because missouri is so wrought with bear population. m.s.u. is hereafter the cracked armidillo, but instead of having an armidillo on the jersey they shall wear a picture of governor blunt. incidentally, this comes to mind as i look out my office window governor blunts wife is trying to wedge a persian rug into the back of her s.u.v. licensed mo1. our parking lot is icy and i am wondering if she is going to slip and fall. perhaps we can pay for her health care since they denied medicaid to all of the disabled. (oh here i go on an irrelevant tangent)

We already had our name change for the year. Missouri University of Science & Technology Miners is bad enough already. But I'll take Alice University even though Alice has been banned forever, haha.
