Does anyone know of any videos or books that give some REAL hockey tips? I grew up in texas and never played on a hockey team with a coach before, but I've been playing long enough now to learn all the basics but I'd like to learn more detailed and advanced skills. Are there any good resources out there?

The book by Greg Siller "Skills & Strategies for Winning on Wheels" is a great resource for 4 on 4 hockey. Greg is a contributor to this site - see his product reviews. He has been very helpful to me in the past when I had specific questions about different tactics that teams would use. The book is also an excellent source of information for new roller hockey coaches (dads) who want to be more than a door opener. I think you can get the book directly from Greg at prolearning.com. I am from Michigan and before our first NARCh trip he gave me a lot of insight into how the California teams played. He's a good man. I better quit or this will get put into the commercial thread.

I gotta agree with you Greg's book is just about the best around, particularly from the coaches point of view. Another point worth considering is that it is specifically for roller hockey and not just a ice hockey cross over.

I totally agree that Sillers book is awesome. You can catch me at the local books a million, or at the barnes and nobles sitting in the aisle and reading it just before my roller games! WHAT??? YES I am that cheap! hehehe.. But, really, this is a great book for ROLLER!!
