Ok, got home from the rink tonight to read this and was eating a plate of mac n cheese (yeah, I was feeling lazy and poor) and I pop up IHC...."Ah...another poll ...cool!" Where I begin to read. Suddenly I choke and nearly redecorate my monitor with something that resembled my dinner due to laughing so hard! Man, look.. If youre gonna post one of these things, please explain your logic to your conclusion as to how you derived this mishmash of standings.

The top 3 teams (and mine is one of them) havent even played a game yet! No way do any of them deserve that much respect until they earn it.
You have teams with 2 losses and no wins ahead of teams with no losses and a few wins, and against legit tough teams. There are teams that havent played a game in the league in history ahead of teams who have wins....I can go on and on, but ill pee myself...sorry

The argument that teams that haven't played don't deserve to be highly ranked still doesn't make any sense. Just like in any sport rankings or polls, just because powerhouse Team A hasn't played a game doesn't mean they shouldn't be ranked ahead of garbage Team B. They are better regardless of not having played their first game. Who's the best, that's what power rankings are.

actually it does make sense... have you or anyone else ever seen the Dragons play? NOPE then how are they ranked? so your arugment is void

Is Pittsburgh really going to be that good also.......their team has changed a lot.

I based these rankings off of the rankings I did last week and the results from this week. Colorado Springs has always been at the top of my rankings, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg moved up due to the teams in front of them losing atleast one game. I put Phoenix in there because of their roster(They have Danny Marmorstein, and Josh Laricha, who are both very well known players on the west coast). I do these rankings the same way espn does theirs fopr different sports, If you lose you drop, depending on who you lose to will depend on how far you drop. If you dont play and teams in front of you loses then your team moves up.

Falcons, the Pittsburgh team you played in Potomac in pre-season was a team composed of 3 pro players, and 7 minor players. Our roster have changed a lot from last year, and for the better actually. We will have Mitchell Hardin back in net and he is just as good as Leggat. As for our offense, our only loss was Redstreake, but we picked up two guys who might put up more goals than he did last year. And on Defense, we didnt lose anyone, with a good core in Brock Wilson, Ben Dyer, Eric Keene, Jason Roux, and Chris Weiss.

And nobody has said this on this thread yet, but i have heard the arguments from some friends saying "the bandits lost ziggy and ciolli, they're screwed".. well, if anyone wants to check out our schedule last year, we finished 30-2. Ziggy and Ciolli only played in 12 games, AND those 12 games they played did not include the 4 game sweep over the Lunatics in regular season, which were the toughest games we played. So if you do the math.. 30 wins-12, you get and 18-2 record. Which isnt too bad right?

Im not worried about our team. But you guys will see next week i guess.

I'd have to say that, despite all the talk, I really think the Pats are still the team to beat in this league.

yeahhhhhhhh! Some smack talkin with Pburghbandits!!! Now that is what we need at the beginning of the season in these forums.

Pittsburgh is definitely going to be a player again this season. I just looked over their roster and it is every bit as solid and strong as last season. What is even better for them, is that all of that talent is more centrally located to their location so having their top players for games wont be as big of an issue as last year. Put on your helmets boys, its going to be a longggg season!!!

haha just clearing some things up for people who are misinformed. We look forward to playing you guys again this year Todd, the 6 games last year were awesome and they all could have gone either way. Especially the games at Harrisburg, those were very intense down to the wire games.

And yes, having more players within the Pittsburgh area will be easier on us this year, might even benefit us because we will have a full bench for most of the season.

This is bullcorn. Rank us 41st if you like, just make sure the Tics are 42... we beat them twice a few weeks ago. I demand to be ranked higher then them.

Damn the Todd Wiley, he obviously has been tampering with the super computer that calculates these rankings. Shenanigans!!!

hey Flynn, curb that language buddy, this is a family board. lol

I think this whole ranking business is useless until at the very least, a few weeks from now. Thay way, every team will have played. You can see what rosters live up to the hype, or dont. You can see what teams people fail to mention that have decent records. I understand the concept, basing rankings merely on roster and preseason action. But some of the teams havent even played yet. Give it a few more weeks before you start ranking the lot. :D

Im cool with 42! No one gunning for us that way. Being at the top with 0-0-0 puts a lot of pressure on my players who read this crap and take it seriously. You know how some guys believe every word they read like that.

The Tics only lost to the Growl because Flynner slipped something into our water bottles! And someone went into our lockerroom and put oil on our rinkrat wheels or something.....and some more excuses that I cant think of at the moment.

Argument is void? Haha. Ok...
First, I'm on the Dragons so yes I have seen myself play.
Second, it's not even about us. All I'm saying, is if a team is that good (let's say Colorado Springs), it makes perfect sense for them to be ranked above, let's say, Raleigh Assault who won their first 2 games. Does anyone think as highly of Raleigh as they do the Thunder? Of course not. Nothing against Raleigh but Colorado Springs roster is easily judged as superior without having played a game.

This is power rankings, who is the best. If you want something based so much on win-loss record just read the standings.
