I just bought the RBK 6K pump skates for roller hockey... does anyone have anything good or bad to say about them, or have any experience with them? I generally have a wider foot so i bought them as CCM's are naturally wider. I have ccm 692 Pro tacks and they fit great, handsdown the best skate (fitment wise) ive ever had, so i bought the reeboks in the same size and hope the fitment will be the same...

Personally, I buy skates based on fit, not hype. I started skating in CCM a LONG time ago, back in my ice days. When I got into inline I bought CCM inline skates (I was skating in 952 and 970 tacks so the transition was easy). Ever since then when it comes time to buy new skates, the CCM line just seems to feel the best for MY foot.

I own the 6k pumps and love them. They replaced PF8's which replaced Mavericks...and so on and so on...

Loved every pair.

yeh, when I was A kid for some reason I would never but CCM on my feet. it is definately one of the best choices I have made.

yea i definitely buy for comfort... can the 6K Pumps be baked or will the heat ruin the pump/air system?

I know when I got mine they said they could NOT be baked, because of the pump... When I first got them, I loved them. But now that I have had them for a little I just don't like them... Once my skate got fully broken in the pump just doesnt seem to work. So now no matter how much I pump and try to tighten my laces they just always seem to feel loose. But I may just be one of those rare problems, because I know a couple other ppl with the skates that really like them.

I don't know if you CAN bake them...but I would suggest that you don't NEED to. They felt great probably half way through my first skate with them on.

I really like the pump feature. At first I was going to buy the CCM equivalent, but the store offered the RBK for ~$10 more, so I thought what the heck. I figured the pump was 100% gimmick, but as it turns out I really like it. I don't have to lace my skates quite as tight around my ankle (allow more flexibility) and the pump air bladders fill in the gaps around my ankle for a nice snug fit...but instead of your ankle being locked in place, it can move and you bend your knees.

u should call reebok and ask, it could void the warranty. I have the 8k pumps and really like them. they took forever to break in but are great skates now. i dont really ever use the pump itself, i just like the skate. I also have a wide foot, the 8k comes in E size width so hopefully the 6k does also

it does...thats why i got them... they ran out of the 5k in E width and the next one that had it was the 6k... they were cheaper than the ccm's that came in E by like $20 too.... i have a game tomorrow, so i think ima wear them as is for that game, see how they feel, then maybe get them baked (after calling reebok) thanks

fitment is very good on the RBK 6K's and after talking to reebok, i was told these can be baked, with the pumps depressed all the way, and should not be inflated for approximately 2-3 days after being baked

I have heard that when the pump skates break in the pump mechanism on the sides (under the padding) start to dig into your outside foot area, Good luck , G

That's true... and it can leave some pretty nasty blisters.

My Son loved the RBK pump skates when he got them. We were coming from a tournament where he blew out a pair of Missions.... boot went one way, the boot sole and chassis went the other... (That's the last pair of Missions I'll buy, and yes those were baked) Thankfully, there was a Tour rep on site, who loaned him a pair of demo Code 1's for the rest of the day.

Anyway, he had his RBK's baked, and has had the skates for a little over a year now. The air bladder on his right no longer works, and he can't seem to tighten his laces up enough to make up for it. I doubt that the baking ruined the skates. The air bladder is protruding through the inside of the boot and caused some blisters. (He's wearing thicker socks, or a blister bandaids to keep from getting new ones.

He's an aggressive skater and plays a lot. I had hoped that they'd last longer than they have, but it looks like there is a Code 1/Carbon purchase in my future... unless someone here knows how to fix these air leaks...
