looks like a good roster. Signed redstreake. It seems you have the same core of guys but added new young talented players. Your roster for the past few years had older players. Hey you lost some great players these young guys have some shoes to fill.

yeah i agree it will be hard to replace a guy like Jimmy V. i told the young guys they need to learn to beg the ref for assists after every goal, whether on the rink or in the stands ;)

But for real ... VERY solid roster, lots of high end experience, lots of speed as well.... hopefully we can all gel like i think we can.... could be a very special year

no more 99 from 99. Jimmy will never hear the end of that. Yes alot of shoes to fill but it seems you have some young players that could mix in nice with the players from last year. Looks like you have more speed. hey it is going to be a great year for PIHA, sorry I have to sit out a year. I will definitely watch some games.

you guys picked up Sgrillo, Redstreake and the Kull's. Nice additions to an already explosive team!

i was actually curious about him myself. I've been following PIHA since it began and that was a name I did not recognize from the roster.

Dan is a ice player who crossed over and played nationals this past summer with the NJ Titans (TORHS) and Savage Wolves (NARCH). Dan was unknown to me but made our Wolves squad and was a vital part of our success in Florida.

like Troho said ... Dan was an ice guy who crossed back over this summer ... he played back in the day with the Nj bullets peewee team and montvale rage squirt team. Then left the game for ice hockey. Played 2 years at Morrisville State in college winning 2 junior college national championships before finishing his career playing for SUNY Potsdam in NCAA D-3. He contacted me in April about playing some roller again and a few months later he was our leading scoring for the wolves in Florida this past summer in the Men's Platnium division. Also won the Mens AAA title with the C.C. Titans

So there's a little Bio for you guys to mull over....

we also picked up Gene Gsell, who is (in my opinion) one of the best players around in front of the net, he can deflect anythin and his hands with the puck are unreal. Hopefully we can gel as a team before the season starts to utilize all the talent on the roster.

thanks for the info!

Yea I saw Gene Gsell play last season at a game vs the Fury I think. Best of luck to you guys.

Redstreake is a huge pick up, and so is Sgrillo. I can imagine the sick goals that guys like Sullivan, Davidson, Tracy, Redstreake and Sgrillo will snipe. I hope that the growl games make it on youtube! Kull brothers aren't huge pick ups, but will be decent players that shouldn't cost the growl. I would say the Growl are my pick to win the PIHA this year.

With Redstreake missing from Pittsburgh and rumours of Leggat not being back in net for them, they definately will not be as dominant this year...

Thats a pretty big assumption that Pittsburgh will not be as good as last year, especially since we have not posted a roster yet. Just curious who said Leggat isnt playing? By the way, Mitchell Hardin will make his PIHA Pro debut this season, and he may be one of the best goalies in the league.

Like I mentioned, I heard a "rumour" that Leggat wasn't back in net for them. Redstreake is one of the most dangerous players in the offensive zone. Hardin is a good goalie, but I wouldn't put him at the top of the league, and Leggat was the leagues best goalie by far last year, huge loss if it is true.

i don't really think there is a question on whether or not pitt will be good, because i'm sure they will be. If they lost Leggs, then that hurts, losing redstreake hurts as well, i think it's a safe assumption that they will be a STRONG team, but not as dominant as last season. If they could have gotten their guys to commit, then last year would have been really special for them.

I don't doubt that they will be good. Jon Roux is a true competetor and will do whatever he needs to do to assemble an even stronger team then he had last year.

Our Growl roster is missing Jim Vivona, Mike Catalano, and Brian Fischer. Those have been major pieces to the Growl franchise for quite some time and huge players to have to replace. Yet I think we have released an even stronger roster this year then ever before, would you have thought that if you just knew we were losing thos players?

I for one think Pittsburgh will still be the team to beat in that division.

speaking of divisions...

any ideas? are they going to be how they are set up on the website? if so then the Growl/Pitt rivarly should be almost instantaneous

pay not attention to how things are currently aligned on the website. In order for teams to have the ability to post on the site, they have to be applied to the league.

the league is still figuring out how thing will be aligned and the stuff on the website was only an idea back when that was posted.

the last thing i heard was that the NE Division was going to remain the same as last season, plus inherit the two new Long Island teams.

I have no idea what that would mean for the MD Division

that's a lotta teams for that division then huh?

we should get thrown in the MD, less travel! haha
