Got any specifics on these teams?
All I know is that Mike Thiefault, who put up a point per game as a freshman at Lindenwood last season, is going to BCC. That's a huge addition.
Anything else?

BCC will have 10 strong skaters this year and are adding thiefault and blake johnson who is arguably the best player in the whole conference..uf added dane johnson whos coming off a shoulder injury but should help them out along with one of the meyer brothers these r def the top 2 teams in the secrhl.

gotta love preseason rankings when nobody has any idea who will or wont actually show up to tryouts... i know there are countless kids every year at every university who are really good at roller hockey that decide not to play for one reason or another. that being said, i hope you guys do keep it up after the season starts..good luck to everyone this year

if anybody really cares about those rankings your retarded....BCC wont lose a game unless a uf goalie stands on his head...fiu u should be okay if correa and hayes are still there...did ucf lose stamborski? ncstate always fields a competitive team...if fsu skates hard they can upset most teams(regionals)...usf should be okay lost acouple guys but got a little more talent for second line i heard...
anyone have an idea when the first tourney is?
streetlegend9

bcc stands for broward community college..and they do have a good shot to go undeafted this year unless a uf goalie does stand on his head as mentioned be4 other than that no1 will rely pose a threat till nations..ucf is getting a few incoming players that are solid. usf looks to be still rebuilding..fiu could make a run to be the top d1 team from this region with almost every1 coming back

Does anyone know if the schedule is going to be more diverse, its crap that all the south teams have to play each other week in and out without getting to play any of the north teams. Like to see some new matchups this year I don't know about you guys.

There are more events to choose from this season. However, the north teams dont want to travel down south, and the southern teams dont want to travel up to carolina. So there will always be the southern teams beating up on eachother, while the northern teams skate away with easier schedules.

Logistically it is a tough division to play in because of the amount of travel required to play the teams in the other geographic extreme of the division.
Curious, how far of a drive the other divisions have between events?
For example, the SECRHL has an event in Winchester, VA and an event in Ft. Myers, FL. Mapquest says that these two cities are 1062.77 miles and 16 hours and 29 minutes apart.

That's about how long it feels going from Philly to Pittsburgh. I'd venture to guess that the greatest distance between two events would have to be about 500 miles from Pittsburgh, PA to Glastonbury, CT, and I'm guessing not a lot of teams going to Pittsburgh come from the New England area.

Yea, everyone would like to play the teams from the southern divsion but its very unpractical. We made the 7 and half hour trip to beachton last year from Columbia and it was a ridiculously long drive. I dont see that happening this year considering there are 3 events in Columbia and a few in Savannah/Snellville. So whatever points anyone from the northern division scores i'm sure will be irrelevent.

u want some cheese with that wine? Quit being such a dumby. Teams don't choose who they play against, the schedule is made for them. You're goin to make it to regionals pretty much no matter what because there are only 9 teams in DI and 8 make it. Like Ed said in the conference call, if u wanna win the championship you gotta beat everyone so it doesnt matter what your seed is at the end of the year. If you want to be 4-0 so bad, then make the trip to Columbia.

South Carolina? A home win over Kentucky isn't impressive enough to justify a top-ten ranking. The only reason they're ranked that high is because Spurrier generates ratings, and ESPN generates hype, and the poll voters don't think for themselves, they just listen to what ESPN feeds them. (That's also why everyone still thinks the Big East is a legitimate football conference. ESPN says it is. Well, it's not. Cincinnati-Rutgers looked like a MAC game. South Florida would finish .500 at best in any other conference.)

Please do tell who would be in your top 10 then. South Florida has beaten two quality teams in West Virginia and Auburn as well as beating North Carolina by 4 touchdowns. South Carolina beat then #11 Georgia on the road, beat #8 Kentucky, and had a respectable showing against LSU at Death Valley. SC winning all of their games except against the #1 team doesnt warrant a top 10 ranking? I guess it makes it a little easier to discredit good teams when your school doesnt even have a football team.
As far as your argument about Spurrier generating ratings, he is going to do this regardless of where South Carolina is ranked. Did the poll voters listen to ESPN last year when most analysts on the channel were pushing for a Michigan versus Ohio State national title game? This is football, not a nationwide media conspiracy.
In conclusion, please learn something about college football before talking about it. You dont have games to attend on Saturdays so you should be able to watch more football than most everyone else. If you have any questions feel free to ask as I want to help you sound less like an idiot. Until then I will give more credence to the people who follow college football for a living.

The ESPN analysts were not pushing a Michigan-Ohio State championship game last year, unless it was to screw Fox out of drawing a broad audience.
Did you notice that South Florida struggled with a Sun Belt team on Saturday? The final was 35-23, but it was a one-possession game throughout, and USF scored a garbage touchdown at the end to inflate the final margin.
West Virginia gave it away. (And it's ludicrous that they're ranked ahead of Missouri.) North Carolina was 1-2 when they played USF, coming off a tough conference loss at home. They were ripe to be knocked around. Auburn lost to Mississippi State the following week. USF's schedule has worked out for them. They are a good team, but they are not a top-ten caliber team, and certainly not worthy of a #5 ranking. They would go .500 in the Big Ten, SEC, Pac-10, or Big 12.
Virginia Tech is still getting the sympathy vote. No matter what happened at Clemson, their body of work is mediocre. And Clemson sucks. VT took a 23-5 lead despite having completed a total of three passes.
What makes West Virginia's 5-1 more impressive than Missouri's 5-0? Does anyone actually believe West Virginia is a better team than Missouri? Of course not -- but they're ranked higher because they're in the Big East.
USC is still ranked in the top ten after losing to the worst team in the Pac-10 at home....it's the hype, the story, and the chase for ratings. When they beat Cal, voters will start putting them back at #2 again.
Does anyone actually believe Cincinnati is a better team than Auburn, Texas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Illinois, Purdue, or Florida State? Of course not. So why are they ranked ahead of those teams? Because they're in the Big East.
And in response to your ********ed little potshots...I've seen a little bit of college football....
My dad graduated from Purdue; I've been a Purdue fan my entire life. I started going to games in 1991. Until last week, I hadn't missed a home game of any significance in eight years (That's a four-hour drive). I've seen games in seven different major college stadiums in seven different states, nine if you count the Rose Bowl and Citrus Bowl.
During the season, I'm unproductive and irresponsible at work because I'm too busy reading up on college football. When I'm not at a game on a Saturday, I'm in front of a TV for 12-plus hours.
My point is that if there's a sport I'm familiar with....this would probably be the one.
A few of the games I've seen live:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=1069727
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T5dZ8kgMtA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZSqFwsZEqE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJohOhjKWoc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lifb2sWQX5g
Like I said....I've seen my share of games.
"Respectable showings" don't do anything for me. Oregon shouldn't stay in the top five after losing to Cal. So why should South Carolina be ranked that high after losing to LSU?
I know LSU is an 800-pound gorilla, etc., but a loss is a loss.
South Carolina is good. Georgia is a good win. But beating Kentucky isn't that impressive. Kentucky's signature wins are over Louisville (who is absolutely horrible, despite the top-ten preseason ranking) and Arkansas (who isn't that good either). Sometimes you learn things as the season goes on.

I guess you didnt read the very first sentence of my post. You basically argue that half of the teams in the top 10 should not be there. Ok, thats your opinion and I guess youre entitled to it. However, heres the thing, there has to be ten (10) teams ranked in the top 10.

USF beat Auburn, Auburn beat Florida in Florida. Florida shoulda beat LSU. So I think USF is underrated. Should be #2. Also, comparing the Big 10, Big 12, and Pac 10 with the SEC is a joke in itself. Those conferences are not even comparable to the SEC. Finally, last year, the voters got it right and figured out it is almost impossible to go through the SEC without a loss and put florida in the National Championship game where they proved the Big 10 is a joke. Southern Cal just proved the Pac 10 is a joke, and everyone knows the Big 12 is a joke.

I love the transitive property of equality.......
Notre Dame won at UCLA....UCLA won at Stanford....Stanford won at USC.
Notre Dame > USC?
USF almost lost to FLORIDA ATLANTIC on Saturday. Did you see it?
Clemson beat Florida State a month and a half ago. That doesn't mean Clemson is a better team than Florida State today.
When means just as much as who.
Would Appalachian State beat Michigan today? Probably not. Would Florida have beaten Ohio State last September? No.
South Carolina should have beaten Florida last season. Does that mean they would have beaten Ohio State? No.
Duke beat Northwestern who beat Michigan State who beat Notre Dame who beat UCLA who beat Stanford who beat USC.
Yeah, Auburn beat Florida at the Swamp. They also lost to Mississippi State at home. But wait a minute....
South Carolina beat Mississippi State....who beat Auburn........who beat Florida...........who SHOULDA BEAT LSU........does that mean the real USC should be ranked #2?
Also, comparing the Big 10, Big 12, and Pac 10 with the SEC is a joke in itself. Those conferences are not even comparable to the SEC. SEC is the best conference in the country, every year, and it's usually not even close. But when the SEC only wins one of three games against Big Ten teams in bowl games (Penn State beat Tennessee, and Wisconsin beat Arkansas), that hurts your case a little bit. Did you know the Big Ten is 5-3 against the SEC in bowl games since 2004?
I know the SEC is better, but one would think they'd do a little bit better job of proving it.

I just read the schedule, and its a joke that everyone in Georgia was from florida... These things need to be planned better fo sho. Its not always a good thing to only play the north schools all year (although miami gets screwed for only playing the south teams), it can get boring. Playing Miami in DII is always a good game, and it sucks that it hardly ever happens.
